The new Kawasaki KLR650 dual sport adventure bike

It looks great, but it didn’t gain much power and gained a lot of weight. I bet most of it is in the new exhaust system.
At least it is still cheap.

I had a lot of hope they they would do a proper re-design to compete more closely with the Yamaha T700 or the KTM 790.

Kawi just put more lipstick on a pig (and that's from someone who's owned KLR's for well over a decade).

I guess they didn't have the design capability or desire to compete on anything but price.

Maybe they have something else in mind to compete with the Tenere.

I hope your right Chris, but I don't think they have room in the lineup for 2 ADV bikes in the 650 - 750 range.

And I'm sure they'll sell a bunch of them. People love the cheapness. I was just hoping for something that had the 650R motor (the twin) and a 6 speed gearbox and maybe even some suspension that came from the early 2000's instead of the 1990's
;)
