I drive BMW X1 but once things get better after this Covid, I want to upgrade to BMW X3.

Yes, love my M3, though I'm a serial car flipper (or at least used to be), but don't see anything replacing it anytime soon.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 5:49 pmE46 might be my favorite three series. Cars do make watches look like an affordable hobby.

Nothing even like it any more, unless you count the new 4 series convertible, which looks awful IMO. I just got one of the last 2 series convertibles before they were discontinued, and supposedly there won't be a convertible version in the new generation. I'd definitely hold onto that, but as a former serial car flipper I know how it goes.djh1201 wrote:Yes, love my M3, though I'm a serial car flipper (or at least used to be), but don't see anything replacing it anytime soon.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 5:49 pmE46 might be my favorite three series. Re: What do you drive???
Thoughts on an M2 Comp vs new Supra? Need to replace my 991 (long story) and both of these are a decent step down but I still think would be enjoyable. As much as I want to, I just can’t do MT for a DD. Other thought would be a new Golf R but I think I’d probably choose one of the two BMWs.

Crazy, 2 years ago we sold my wife's Saab. A few months ago we had the opportunity to repurchase it. We passed on it. It looks like the current owner (I saw it at a local gas station) is taking great care of it.

Re: What do you drive???
Its an Isuzu MU-X. There is an actual 'ute' version of the car called a D-Max
3L 4cyl Turbo Diesel, rear locker, hill descent control. This version has a Gross Vehicle Mass upgrade so has a payload of 1050kg. Runs on 32's with 16in rims.
It is smaller than the trucks I see many running in the States. We get the bigger Fords, RAMS, etc here but there aren't that many of them. They mostly get used by people pulling big caravans and horse floats. They are not that great for off-roading here as there are limits on vehicle mods like lifts and tyre sizes so the ramp-over angles on them are poor and they are too wide for lots of the bush tracks.
Re: What do you drive???
Agreed, the new 3/4 Series front ends are awful. I had a loaner M340i last year and pretty much hated it. Yeah, it was fast, but everything felt so disconnected - steering, brakes, accelerator, no clue what was happening at the wheels, opposite of my M3. 2 Series is definitely the one to get, a true driver's car still from what I've read.jswing wrote: ↑Fri Aug 06, 2021 7:32 pmNothing even like it any more, unless you count the new 4 series convertible, which looks awful IMO. Re: What do you drive???
The 2 series is the only new BMW I'd buy. I've had 3 series since my 20s (that's a long time..) but as you said they're so disconnected now they're no longer fun to drive. I'd have rather bought the M2, but my wife really wanted a convertible and I caved. Of course there was a gorgeous silver M2 on the showroom floor when I picked mine up. Even though it's not the M, it's a blast to drive.djh1201 wrote:Agreed, the new 3/4 Series front ends are awful. I had a loaner M340i last year and pretty much hated it. Not so. I believe that's true for 2022, but my 2021 was built in Germany.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Sat Aug 07, 2021 10:21 amNew 2 series is made in Mexico. I feel like we’re at “peak ICE”. I don’t think cars get better when updated. The current M2 CC is probably as good as it’s going to get.jswing wrote: ↑Sun Aug 08, 2021 5:57 amIf I were buying an M2 I'd want it built in Germany.JP Chestnut wrote:Yes. I wasn’t clear.
