I love that color. Toyota really nails the trucks & SUVs. I am pretty thrilled with my new Outback turbo, but I often consider trading her for a 4Runner or Taco.deepcdvr wrote:Thanks dude - it's a color that does not photograph well, but is pretty bad ass in person

Re: What do you drive???
Yes. There was nothing wrong with it, I just kept reading the great reviews on the Outback XT and decided I needed to give it a try.
What do you drive???
It’s not terrible, but I’d rather have a nice 8-speed auto or even a 6-speed manual.
After owning a 2011 & a 2017 I can say that Subaru keeps improving the CVT.
I’ve got a full cat-back exhaust system from Nameless Performance and even with the CVT it gives the feeling of a larger WRX wagon. The Nameless strut tower bar and Pitch Stop help this.
Next up is a Whiteline rear sway bar upgrade.

I love saying "Manuel" because it reminds me of my Daddy and good times. :-)Selym wrote: ↑Thu Jun 17, 2021 3:51 pmNissan builds a solid car.1954Selmer wrote: ↑Thu Jun 17, 2021 3:39 pm2014 Nissan Versa - Stick and Manuel windows - 175k miles

Re: What do you drive???
My BMW wagon has this. Great transmission. My last two cars were dual clutch so I was skeptical that I would like a traditional torque converter auto. ZF8 can be fast in sports mode and is much more comfortable in stop and go compared to the jerky DCT.

What did you drive?
More apt for this. On Friday the 2nd of this month at approx 21.00hrs, Kim & I had dozed on our lounge when our daughter came rushing in screaming her car had been destroyed...
I have the ability to sleep through incoming (didn't hear the collision). I rushed outside, no shoes (yes I had pants on) walking around a lot of broken glass, looking at what used to be my wife's car, being confronted by a 19 year old half formed adult telling me he lost traction, (after coming around a corner attempting some from of burnout...) The car he drove was a Hilux, slightly earlier to mine pictured behind Kim's car, also fitted with a bull bar.
My son saw that many years in the military embodies you with colourful and poignant language for all situations. The two young NSW Police officers in attendance (looked more like budding real estate agents wearing a Police uniform, and really felt attending this incident was well below them) reminded me that their body cam's were recording my every word. To which I replied "good!"
Kim's car was taken away, and after many calls to our insurer and basically being stone walled when speaking to their call staff in the Philippine's (I fkn hate how they do this, when we pay these fkers thousands each year), she finally got an answer from their settlement team yesterday.
Kerb side front wheel had been ripped from the linkage arms and was at 90 degrees to the car, only straight panel was the boot.
Her now totalled C300 was 1 month from being two years old from 1st registration, when she bought it new from a Merc dealer. So she is now getting a brand spanking new C300 spec'ed exactly as her old vehicle (As per her insurance policy, 'old for new if less than 2 years old').
If you think prices have increased in the US, here in Aus it's nuts. Her car new now costs $94K AUS, that's a $30K AUS increase since 2019.
All's initially shitty, and ends well. J
Also love all the new rides you guys are getting lately.

Lost traction. Uh huh. Translation.... I was driving action movie style.
Sorry about your stress however sounds like you came out square (which I’m sure you paid well for on the front end).

Re: What do you drive???
Thanks, yeah just a real big PITA right now. Bent metal thats all. He also totalled my neighbours car.
The little fkr was going to do a runner, but the impact screwed his drive train and after reversing to high tail it out of dodge his MV wouldn't move. Neighbours have this on their CCTV, which we sent to our insurers.

So he is total piece of shit then? Sucks about the car, but at least it's coming out good in the end.93 Turbo wrote: ↑Mon Jul 19, 2021 5:28 pmThanks, yeah just a real big PITA right now. Bent metal thats all. He also totalled my neighbours car.

Hopefully the little shit was cited.
Re: What do you drive???
The two attending Police Officer's were going to leave the scene saying it was all up to insurance. I jumped in and reminded them that 2 x parked cars have been destroyed in a 50kph (30mph) street, and there are no penalties for the driver at fault? I almost felt like saying to the two officers "give me your contemporaneous note books and I'll do your job..."
The turd was given a neg driving ticket. This'll affect his insurance repairing his vehicle but not ours. He'll probably be in a financial world of hurt for some time.

Re: What do you drive???
Yeah it's only a car, but Kim has worked bloody hard and deserves this. She's been eating a shit sandwich at work with the business in the middle of a take over. Added we're in another lock down here in Sydney, son's final year of high school, this was just another layer of poo we didn't need.unsub073 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 20, 2021 10:10 amSo he is total piece of shit then? Just heard from the dealer she got her old car from that our insurance is sourcing her replacement vehicle through them.
