Also watched A Monster Calls this weekend. Very good movie. Not a monster movie. More of a drama.

Watched Archive on Prime. I guess it would be a sci-fi future android-tech drama? Very good.

Love and Monsters is a lot of fun. Derivative of a lot of sci-fi and other films, but that was clearly intentional and part of the fun.

Being older I like some movies some of you mite not have seen. HBO has a few older movies being retired Navy this is one of my favorite movies the Sand Pebbles with Steve McQueen this and Bullet are his best movies and maybe Tom Horn and the magnificent seven another two of his movies.
Cool youtube video about the sand pebbles movie
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h43rz_Wc-jo
When I got off active duty my first civilian job there was a old retired chief who was station in China before WW2 John McGann and my grandfather also my sister got this Hand carved wooden chest my grandfather brought back. maybe why I like this movie Sand Pebbles worth a watch. They did a great job making it look authentic in one seen you will see McQueen with Candis Burgan he is in his winter blues uniform with the cuffs rolled up you will see liberty cuffs with dragons a eligal thing not authorized you only roll up your cuffs when on liberty so you don't get in trouble. Liberty your day off for you none Navy folk.

Just watched The Tomorrow War on Prime. Brilliant action movie with some horrible aliens, a bit of HR Geiger feel in places and full of cheerful end of humanity stuff. And it's a time travel movie without any stupid paradoxes
Highly recommended

Guns of Navarrone - very cool.

Siberia - painful waste of time.

Vivarium - could have been much better. Not worth the time.

Watched Motherless Brooklyn on a flight yesterday. Pretty darn good movie. Ed Norton starred and directed.

Card Counter is quite good. Solo poker player lives and plays card under the radar till the past finds him. Quite a slow pace movie not like the trailer shown. It's like Ocean Eleven in the dark side. Isaac Jacob plays well but i would also think George Clooney could be as good.

Nope. Cut it off at about 3/4 and never picked it back up.

Went to the local IMAX for the premiere of DUNE. In a word...it was awesome!  :headbang:

In preparation of the movie I reread the book. I had been a number of years since I last read it. It is one of my favorite books. The movie covers about half of the book. Hopefully the powers that be greenlight part two. If not I will be very vexed. I would suggest reading the book before going as it might be difficult to follow some of the finer points in the movie.

Highly recommended.

Just watched Dune on HBOMax…they didn’t finish the story. I didn’t realize it was about end where it did. Ugh. :snooty:

Had that same experience, can’t remember what movie it was, but yes it’s sucked. Movie ended and you are left with a “wtf no way” feeling.

I kind of expected it to end where it did. The book has a major change there also. Just hope part 2 gets made. Lord of the Rings did this to me as well. Had to wait a few years between each movie.

Unforgiveable - It's a good show by Sandra Bullock after Gravity. Highly recommended.

I enjoy the fist 3 series of Tokyo Vice series by Michael Mann. It's about an American living in Tokyo working as reporter investigating Yakuza. The story from this book, https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6658129-tokyo-vice

The Thing About Pam. It's on NBC, and only 6 episodes this season. Just watch it.
