That's super cool Andy - you're a lucky boy!
I've only been to Oulton Park once.. was a passenger for a few hot laps in an S2000, a great experience.

That is excellent. A lot of people would love to have that sort of experience; a classic check-it-off-the-bucket list outing.
Say, that reminds me: another great bucket list activity is being able to say that you let a traveling musician crash on your couch. Just saying...

Nice car and a very cool outing. I'm jealous.
Have you ever gotten in trouble for that plate?

Only once - at the Euro Tunnel terminal before crossing to France.

Real plate? Cool ! I thought it was an insurance friendly 'track plate'.

Some people are wise enough to stick another plate on their road car if they take it to a track day so no social media pictures get the attention of any insurance companies that a road car they insure is racing around a track on various track days, as for some reason they seem to not like that very much
I once hired a white Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 and went to a track day with friends and ended up in a motor magazine with a picture of me coming over the brow of a hill between a White Lambo and White De Tomaso Mangusta luckily nothing ever come of it but I somehow doubt the hire company would not of been happy if they had found out or would I of escaped unpunished. That was a very long time ago as the Cosworth Sierra wasn't very old back then I think it was around 1988/89.

Others are "wise enough" to have proper insurance that covers track day use
Imagine having a really bad smash and having to fake it having happened somewhere else? Not for me thanks under any circumstances & impossible if there was anybody injured.

Hi andy,
Couldn't agree with you more and as for my own one off use I can only blame the folly of youth as it was some 30 odd years ago and is most definitely not the sort of behaviour I would either encourage or applaud far from it is the case. But really I was just trying to explain to @james80 what it meant as he had asked.
