Car Spotting
Re: Car Spotting
Lol. It’s cool for a crossover, probably similar in size to the Mach-E. I prefer the hot hatch size of the eGolf it replaces. Seats 5 (no third row) with a large back hatch and trunk storage. Potential range on these is only 260mi or so, which in my experience isn’t real word driving highway speeds in S. Florida. Decent acceleration up to 90+, with adaptive cruise (not self driving), panoramic roof, touch screen interface basically handles everything except windows, locks, and gear selector.

Re: Car Spotting
I hate these ultra modern minimalist interiors. VW is going downmarket with their redone interiors in general, but this style really highlights it.

Counterpoint: I love the ultra modern minimalist interiors.... but Tesla takes it too far in the model 3 with no center screen. Nice change from the 90's cars with 10,000 plastic buttons.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 12:00 pmI hate these ultra modern minimalist interiors. BMW I3 struck the perfect balance. One of my favorite modern car interiors.
Honda has also done a nice job in the new Civic with balance. Nice contrast from recent Honda's that are a mess of buttons and plastic.
Re: Car Spotting
I don't know. I miss the center console on my 1990s Audi A4. At night when all the buttons lit up in red I'd pretend I was in a spaceship.dnslater wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 8:20 amCounterpoint: I love the ultra modern minimalist interiors.... but Tesla takes it too far in the model 3 with no center screen. New S-Class interior...thoughts?
Re: Car Spotting
My parents had a Boneville SSEI back in the 90's. I believe this was peak button. Of course after a few years half of the TEN seat position buttons didn't work.
Re: Car Spotting
I kinda agree w/you on that one. I like a car dash to look like a car dash. From what I've seen in pictures, I am liking the Volvo Recharge ones. We just don't have the infrastructure in place where I live for an EV vehicle to make any since right now.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 12:00 pmI hate these ultra modern minimalist interiors. Re: Car Spotting
There's one thing wrong with every car interior above. The gear shift isn't manual. I know it's a drag during traffic but I still miss manual.
