Re: What do you drive???
I’m still driving my 2020 Outback, mainly because I can fit an 11’ surf rod in the cabin with zero issues

What do you drive???
I identify as a lesbian and have been given honorary status by some lesbian friends, so I fully approve of the Outback. I’ve owned three.Chocodove wrote:I’m still driving my 2020 Outback, mainly because I can fit an 11’ surf rod in the cabin with zero issues

Re: What do you drive???
Near me there are a couple of state troopers who are looking for new employment opportunities as well. One committed perjury on my dash cam and my traffic lawyer used it to beat the ticket. I guess it wasn’t his first time doing something like that. Second one decided to start ticketing a local prosecutor every time he saw him after he refused to sign off on a search warrant the trooper requested. But, then there was the sheriff’s deputy who was driving to work in her patrol car and was stopped by another deputy and told to drive back home. After she failed the field sobriety test. So it’s a mixed bag for sure where I live.Ryeguy wrote:I was just teasing. FWIW, “professional courtesy” only goes so far. For example, two troopers up here are pursuing new career opportunities outside of law enforcement after getting stopped by local PD (DUI while off duty).Captdave wrote: ↑Sat Apr 01, 2023 6:35 pmWell, some of us have to employ countermeasures since we don’t receive any professional courtesyRyeguy wrote:I’m pretty sure all Dave has to do is pin ‘em.Captdave wrote: ↑Sat Apr 01, 2023 4:55 pmLaser jammers and top end radar detectors go a long ways to mitigating that. If not, then a good traffic attorney

That is kind of the flip side to the LEO career. What might be an inconvenient, and potentially costly, mistake for many of us could cost a LEO their career (same goes for military).
You’ve also got to be careful with those “countermeasures” in Canada. I think they are prohibited in several locations.
As for speeding, my opinion is it is all about location. In town? Just don’t. On an open multi- lane highway? Keep it reasonable. In northern Maine where it is just you for miles and miles? Do what you want, but be ready to self-rescue if you wreck.
To go full ludicrous speed, we are lucky to have the old Loring AFB up here that allows top speed runs on the old runway.

Re: What do you drive???
Nice truck!
This is my second Tacoma. I traded in my first one at 12 years old with 120k miles and got $22K for it. Any time I can find a vehicle that retains value like that, I’m buying a second one.
I may get another zoom -zoom vehicle some day, but I’m pretty sure I’ll keep one of these as well. They are just so convenient for throwing surfboards, fishing gear, skies, etc. in the back.
Just to add, right now I’ve got a bit of heel pain, so now I’m driving these

If you have both, then, there is an argument to be made that you get to choose your gender. You also get a free weekend at a Holiday Inn Express with Terry.
