no way Dave finishes that tour --- he sounds and looks like shit

it's as if the band is too strong for his vocals....

Saw them live in the late 1970's simply awesome.
But WTF that is sad. DLR needs to go back
To radio or just retire.

EVH sounds good though.

I remember when that song jump came out that tells you how old I am. Well back in 1983 our ship hit Subic naval Base in PI across shit river from the base was Olongapo soon as you walk over that bridge into the city of Olongapo bars as far as the eye's can see. In these bars are all ways a house band back in those days if you like Rock, Country, Blues, Funk, and Disco that I hated real bad it just sucked. Well there was a house band in one of those bars were they did Van Halen so good you would think they were them until you looked on the stage well that band did jump better than that youtube video from the Ellen show were do you think Journey got there new lead singer maybe Van Halen should get there next lead singer from PI they have nothing to loose.

I saw them on one of the late night talk shows last week. Roth is comically bad.

I didn't watch the video. Was it worse than Roger Daltry at the Super Bowl a few years back?

U guys are all just jealous because "Grandpa Roth" is in better physical shape at 60+ than everyone here besides drew was/will be at 40.

The only guy in the band with any dignity left is Alex, even if he now looks somewhat like an 80/20 cross between a Scandanavian rock drummer and skeletor.

This is why I went from metal, to steel string fingerstyle pop/world, to classical; now, when my students ask me why I don't own an electric guitar, I'll just say "because VanHalen on Ellen, bitches..."

I still own copies of 4 of the first 5 VH record albums (minus VH2) though. Taken in their own time, that shit rocks.
:headbang:

I'm off right this moment to record a track with the principle cellist and bassoonist from the Spokane Symphony; I don't need to put on tight pants, shake my booty, or smile like a chimp with cymbals; I just have to show up and nail my part on microphone. Getting older actually doesn't have to suck...

I was the biggest Van Halen fan on the planet as a teen. Roth is an embarrassment to himself and the band. At 70 Sammy is still killing it... And he can sing in tune. Dave is a disaster.

I'm still pissed about my reunion tickets from 2008. 2 cancellations and then they were horrible. Eddie was drunk, Dave said hi to the wrong town and they sounded bad.

Correction: DLR was that bad.

Agreed. Eddie and Al sound more solid than they have in years. Ed has lost some chops though...

Well that seems to clarify things.... as I always thought Ellen (was) David Lee Roth. :raised:

That's actually a pretty good assessment. A reasonably popular bar band in anytown USA with a thoroughly marginal vocalist and a much better-than-average local hero guitarist covering an old Van Halen tune as best they can. Just about right, IMHO.

Maybe we all need to pound a bunch of Jack and Cokes, eat some peanuts and prezels, and dance around the room hitting on MILFs (or shoot some pool) while we listen to the clip again.

WOW Roth has to lay off of the 'crank' before he goes on to the stage. Seems like he was worried more about kicking in the air and doing some jazzercise shit instead of singing.

And "Ellen" show????? WTF no freaking real rock group would go on that show!!!

Damn! Roth sounds like crap. Saw VH in college back in '86 at the Sports Arena in San Diego. Sammy and the gang rocked. Not so much anymore.
