Show me some good cover songs

Post by DoctorC » Thu Feb 25, 2010 8:48 pm

You know, those songs from your past with a fresh, hard or fun update. I like mixing them in to a party playlist just to make people go

A few I like
Johnny Cash - Hurt (NIN)

Pain - Eleanor Rigby (Beatles)

Johnny Cash - Personal Jesus (Depeche Mode)

The Gourds - Gin and Juice (Snoop Dog)

Dynamite Hack - Boys in the Hood (Eazy - E)

Apocalyptica - One (Metallica)

I have to put this, even that it isn't exactly new or "fresh" just classic and IMO better than original!

Orgy- Blue Monday

Just wanted to say thanks for the Covers. Yesterday morning was a rough one and I thought as a pick me up I would stop back in and check out this thread. It actually made a really good playlist to help pick up the spirits! Gracias!

If you're a Roy Orbison fan, this kd lang version of "Crying" will blow you away. It was recorded at the Songwriter's Hall of Fame tribute to Roy Orbison in May 1989, about five months after Orbison died.

For Orbison fans, here is the 1988 duet video of Roy and kd performing the same song:
