I’ll throw this out there. How much do you guys hate the new Supra? As wrong as it is in so many ways, I think it’s an incredible looking car in person and very fun to drive. And thoughts on the new Nissan Z? If the timing was a bit different I would definitely consider it.
I think the new Z looks way better than the Supra, and the new Z does a better job of adding some of the retro Z looks in the body.

I’ve never seen one of these electric trucks before and saw two within a few minutes today. They look kind of cool but out of my price range.

That’s so cool that they are actually off road capable! Makes sense based on the starting prices.

Those are the trucks they built as a prototype for Ewan McGreggor’s long way up. They did an all electric trip on motorcycles from southern tip South America to California. Their support team drove the Rivians.

Supposedly with electric torque and air suspension they are extremely capable. Rivian is also planning to put a supercharger network along popular off road routes.

Extremely capable is an overstatement. Off road vehicles are generally limited by tires and clearance. While electric vehicles can have nice clearance and a great COG, they’re not special. The physics of traction and power never alter.

The arguments about defender/ bronco/ wrangler are absurd for the same reason. They’re still applying power to traction.

I'd love a 4x4 EV but I don't see how you get over the range issue. My Isuzu has a range of 700 miles and even with that I have to carry extra fuel at times. I can't ever see these being in any way functional for remote touring.

It all depends on your frame of reference... I simply meant for a stock production pickup/SUV, the articles that I have read about them are that they do very well off road.

Some cool stuff...but if I could "check out", I'd do this. Seen at a local fair here.

What Isuzu do you have?
With a mild lift and a little bigger tires, my trooper was lucky to get 250-275 on a 20 gallon tank :banghead:

Was wondering that myself. 38 gallon tank, or do you have a bed-mounted fuel cell tapped into your tank?

A 2018 MUX. I had the stock tank upgraded to 37 gallons. It has a lift, 32in tyres, 4 cylinder 3L turbo diesel. Gets 20 mpg when off-road touring,

I smile at the guys running 35in+ muddies and tuned V8's cos I know the hit they take on fuel consumption and range.

Wow! That's a big inline 4. Does it have balance shafts?

Don't know TBH. Its their J-Series diesel. They are famous for reliability and that was one of the draw cards for me
