The Dive Watch Connection

I don't think of my watches as a collection. For a long time. It was flip flip flip because I didn't know what I liked and I was trying to figure out where I was going with this hobby. A few years ago. I decided that I was just going to buy and not flip because I had a good idea what I liked, or my wife liked.

So here's my first state of the collection, watches that I'll never sell because they mean something to me. I have my eye on a couple that I regretted selling, a victorinox 500LE and a Omega planet ocean 2500 LE liquid metal. I still have an eye out for my gold retirement watch, but I can't seem to decide on a single model.

Nice collection Bill. I like them all.

Great variety - well done.

I looked at a lot of gold watches for retirement - Rolex (Day-Date, Sub, Yachtmaster), Blancpain (Fifty Fathoms, Leman Big Date), ALS 1815, Moser Pioneer, and Omega Speedmaster & PO. I ended up deciding white gold was more my style since it's under the radar and that really narrowed down my choices. Then I thought about how dress watches don't stay in my collection as long and at heart, I'm a dive watch guy, so I ended up with the WG Sub and couldn't be happier. Good luck in your search!

Same problem. I have a WG wedding ring and military service ring. . And a YG wedding and police service ring... So I wonder which I'll hook em up. I don't mind any style of watch, but I have decided that it will be 100 m water resistant and able to probably just put a sail cloth band on it. Full gold prolly too much bling.

JLC? Breitling Datora? Omega speedy? H Moser?

I’m still years away from retirement, but I want a yellow gold or rose gold watch at some point. Yellow gold sub or two tone GMT or Datejust/Daydate would be nice. The two tone Seamasters also look nice. There are a lot of alternatives on dressier watches, but I also would prefer a sport watch.

I myself am a few years away but have been going through the exact train of thought. I can wear a gold chain comfortably but just can’t seem to convince myself on a yellow gold watch…I’m a dive watch guy as well and that simplifies the process but still…some days I almost settle on trying a bluesy as a mid ground watch…then decide no…I love that watch but …there’s always that but…lately I feel the white gold sub may be the way for me after all

If you’re not settled on a dive watch…I tried on a yellow gold speedy on a black gator strap. That was one gorgeous watch and an easy wear. Not too blingy at all.

I wanted a gold or gold coloured watch in my collection but when I got one I just didn't bond with it,but that's just me.

Solid collection, Bill. I see Breitling and I’m loving it; simple.

hobby right Bill?

When you think about the different watches you have had, or
have been into in the past, as well as present, it is just THE
best ! ..Because you are, and have been enjoying the hobby to
it’s fullest. Which is something to be really proud of. As you have
been following your heart, as well as your wife’s too, which is
really fantastic I think. It all allows for enjoyment of things to
be on a different level really.

This collection here is something to behold, with any one of
them being a highlight. And it’s exciting as an outsider just
to see, as well as see where you might be going in the future.
