New Glashütte Original SeaQ "Silver Screen" Chronograph

Post by logan2z » Wed Sep 04, 2024 8:33 am

GO has just released a panda-styled version of the SeaQ Diving Chronograph. The watch uses the same case and in-house integrated column wheel/flyback movement as the existing SeaQ chronograph models, but the "Silver Screen" features a galvanic silver-toned dial and a gloss black ceramic bezel insert. Price is $14,700.

More here.

Great looking watch with a Flyback chronograph and 300 m water resistance, but that price

It is a lot of money, but it's cheaper than the Daytona (and you can actually buy one ;) ), and not that much more than the Zenith Chronomaster Sport, neither of which has the water resistance of the GO.

All very true. Is GO still taking a big hit when selling used? I haven’t looked in a long time. They are a great company and the movements are beautifully decorated.

I've only ever owned one and still do so I've never tried to sell. But yeah, I think they do take something of a hit on the used market. Don't they all (Rolex, AP, and Patek excepted)?

Yes, but I’ve been able to buy my Omegas, Nomos, and Breitlings at big discounts to begin with.

This is a winner for sure. I am a fan. It’s on the larger side for many though. I personally prefer it to the Daytona all brand name and hype aside. Price is not that high, plus after the discount AD it’s well priced for what you get vs others and it IS obtainable. It’s obviously not a watch you buy to impress on IG or make money off it. Gotta buy it to enjoy it.

I think you could probably get a decent discount on a GO as well. It's been so long since I bought mine I don't remember what I paid but I'm sure it was well under MSRP.

That date is unfortunate, and the price...

The big date is their signature complication. That said, I could do without it on the SeaQ as well.

I don't mind the big date if it were lower, instead of the 6 maybe .

Otherwise, nice looking watch
