HEUER Reference 12 (1970's vintage) New arrival: smitten

Post by BramleyGreg » Mon Apr 08, 2024 9:29 am

Just took arrival of this in the last week or so.. and am smitten.

Quite a rare old bird apparently as there less of these produced than some other similar variants.

Photos show the PVD to look very dinged.. but really, it's not so much noticeable in real time. Magnification doesn't help.

On a lovely manual (not even automatic) Valjoux 7734 movement.. which is pretty much almost within COSC right now due a recent pre-sales service.

I currently have it on a authentic Heuer black bracelet.. but I do like how these look on these pics, on a leather... from 'On The Dash'...

It'll mean moving on a piece or two that I don't wear, but I would rather have something 'on the wrist' then a couple 'in the box yet looking good.'

I am definitely seduced by this vintage Heuer.. a great era from them.

I’m with Shannon here Greg, this one couldn’t be any cooler ! :headbang: ;)
And it isn’t every day that you or we find watches that could
actually be one watch collections. :o However, this is genuinely
that kind of occasion. Because the watch does a few things that
really are great right?! First, it is vintage, and that right there
makes it special. Second the watch design is so far ahead
of it’s time imho. Looking like a stealth fighter meets Darth
Vader. 8-) And third, it really IS rare, and something we never
see out there. :o

It’s one that will stand out in public, but also just sitting in
your collection. What a find sir ! ..Sending off a CRAZY cool
congratulations to you !!!

I love it, congrats. The case looks great for its age.

I’ve always wanted a black Heuer with Lemania 5100 inside. I stopped looking years ago; maybe I’ll start that hunt again soon.
