That is super slick. On one hand, I’d love a case just like yours. On the other, I’d feel the obligation to fill every pillow space!

Um, hello. You can easily put another row of pillows on that top shelf.

you misunderstand, i will *never* run out of space in this.

i only mention downsizing because i don't wear all of them any more. sell 5 micros, buy one nicer watch.

so, haven't bought replacement felt, altho i have that, the animal hide glue, and gerstner's restorer and preserver in my cart at the gerstner site. just need to find my gift certificate for gerstner's so i can hit buy. but for now, it's finally in its home and filled with watches, tools, and straps. still need to make my "inserts" to hold the watch pillows in their places.

step one of refurb done.

I used Gerstner's finish restorer and preserver, along with some 0000 steel wool, and cleaned up the outside of the box. before on the left, after on the right. still a couple of stains that didn't completely come out (you can see on the front left corner of the slide out lid), but i got a ton of dirt off (you should see all the black on the rags) and the wood brightened up considerably. plus it's nice and smooth now and doesn't feel grody.

i also got a roll of Gerstner's heavy duty felt w/sizing in it, so the next phase is to pull all the felt out, measure new sheets, mix up the animal hide glue (also from Gerstner) and glue all new felt in.
