New Doxa Sub 200 C-Graph

Post by AtomicTom » Mon Mar 20, 2023 1:48 pm

Guys, have you had time to see Doxa's new SUB 200 C-Graph?

The watch, or watches will have 42mm stainless steel cases, sporty looking
diver's bezels, a fleet of sunray dial colors, the Sellita SW-510 automatic
chronograph movement, beads of rice bracelet, or rubber strap, and more.

Have a look...

Thanks for sharing Tom!

These go from classy to sporty.

Great options color wise.

I prefer the more traditional colors on these.

I can’t wait to see pics if someone picks one of these up!

I like them, but not at almost $3k on a bracelet.

For about the same money, you could be getting a Sinn 103 St Sa (which I find a bit nicer looking).

Like the rest of the 200 line this is very un-Doxa for me other than the BOR bracelet. Maybe these increase sales as they appeal to the masses and allow Doxa to make their traditional style for us.

Hey Tom, these bursting dials must be sick in the sun and surf, but I'm partial to the old-school; those taunt me, or the likes of that wicked 600 T-Graph Pro Dave's sportin' today :fire: --granted that's cuts above this show pony.
I absolutely love the handset and crystal on these 200s though. Thanks, Tom. I appreciate your threads/posts!!

Understood the Sub 200 as an entry level Doxa at $900. Not sure if these news chronos fill the same niche at $3k

Damn we are a fickle bunch of BOD's! :bootyshake:

We complain when Doxa just keeps reissuing the same old style but with different numbers or colors. And we complain when they go outside of their box they have put themselves in. I think this has to be an attempt to market themselves to the unwashed masses of non WIS peoples. I am sure there are a lot of people who still don't care for the "standard" Doxa shape. I am not one of those people however as I love my Divingstar.

As for this watch I do like it...especially the yellow version. :salute: But I don't like it 3K worth.

I think you nailed it. I'm no expert, but I can't imagine there's a solid market to non-WIS for a $3k watch from a [relatively] obscure brand

I still want to see a modern version of the Yukon, aka the doxa Explorer.

Something about those shiny sunray dials just isn't working for me.

I agree with this.

My guess is "unwashed masses" looking for a $3K chronograph will likely go to Jared's Jewelry and buy a Tag Aquaracer Chrono (less money) or a Longines (about the same money, a bit classier / less "sporty" looking).

I also wonder the actual market size of a "fun colored multi-thousand dollar watch" within the "unwashed masses".

If Rolex was more transparent it would be interesting to see how many "colorful" Oyster Dates they made / sold versus black, although the buyer decision process for a $10K watch is likely different than the buyer decision process for a $3K watch.

Well I have to thank all of YOU guys just for joining in as well as sharing your thoughts
on these latest Sub 200s like this !!! :) :salute:

Yup, I find myself kind of conflicted with these honestly. Because on the one hand I
like that they are trying to do something different with the watches. And nothing
really bugs me with the design at all. However, I do wish the prices were a little
more down to earth for a Doxa that's a little more down to earth.

The best part about the watches is hearing what everyone thinks about them, so
thanks once again !!!

I really dig the blue one on the bracelet and think it’s a home run with the slight exception that it’s a bit phat thick for my tastes. I applaud Doxa for getting out of the box their in. I’d consider being a player I’d it was a couple mm thinner.

I really want to like this one. A no date dive chrono would be perfect, but those color's don't work for me at the 3k price point.
