I dropped a Seiko Solar Speedtimer onto a tile floor from countertop height and it seems to have survived unscathed. The impact started the chrono so maybe it landed on the pusher and absorbed some of the impact, but that is pure speculation. Everything seems to be functioning normally.
So this may be a fluke, or owes to the fact that this is a quartz movement, but it was a hard hit and the watch survived.
Is anyone else familiar with the sinking feeling of dropping a watch.

You were lucky I dropped this on the kitchen hardwood floor hit flat on the crystal cracked the crystal and a jewel. Had to order a crystal from England for my watchmaker to repair it he had the jewel cost me some money to get it back. I guess I was lucky did not damage the case. If I did it again the guy who I got the crystal from does not sell parts anymore.

A friend of mine dropped a SubC from a bathroom sink and cracked both the crystal and ceramic bezel - about a WEEK after purchase.
To this day he's still so mad about it he won't tell me how much he paid to get it repaired lol
