SAD NEWS ON THE DWC (John Wilson)
....sorry to be a bummer --- long time DWC member JOHN WILSON passed away earlier this week.
For those who have touched base with John over the years, he was a great collector of Omega and Rolex, along with his love of Hi-Fi, firearms...and his Mustang.
After exchanging messages over the years with John we finally started meeting up for lunch from time to time (We both live in CLE). We'd grab a bite and then usually hit a couple of local watch shops. John was like Norm from Cheers when he went watch shopping -- everyone new his name and the owners would come out and shake hands. Fun times. If you were on John's list he liked to keep in touch and give you a call -- then he'd say -- Gotta run, I'll talk to ya later.
He touched base a few weeks ago and mentioned he was in bad shape -- stageIV lung. I called but he couldn't talk -- I told Lynn to just keep the phone to his ear and I'd do the talking. After about 15 minutes she said he was getting tired. He ended the call with a whisper -- "love ya man, take care"
RIP to a great forumer, collector and friend.

I just got the phone call as well. He called me a of month ago to tell me he had cancer , and it was so bad they were not starting treatment. I felt helpless and wanted to help. I'll miss his phone calls.

For the new guys who didn’t know John he was always willing to share any knowledge he had. He always seemed to be a good dude and it would have been a pleasure to meet him. Maybe one day I will!
Rest in peace brother!

Very sad news.

I do have something on to remember him by. I think this was the only watch he sold to an individual. To help pay for that pretty blue mustang.
