I messaged Joe last night. He says they’re doing okay and have generators going for power. No Internet, so his kids might lose it soon.

Good to hear.

Hopefully, they can get help to those without generators as soon as possible.

Hi guys, thanks for the prayers and checking in!

This is nowhere near as bad as we had it with hurricane Maria 5 years ago, but still we got a lot of water and thus mudslides, a lot of roads are destroyed, one bridge in the south of the island is gone.

We got the power back last night (with Maria, it was almost four months without power!), which is super lucky for us as 90% of the island is without power. I believe there is no water service anywhere, and as Chris mentioned, kids are going crazy without the internet. I have very limited data service, but its getting better by the hour. Friends and family are ok.

Will keep you posted. Thanks again for checking in!

Can’t even say how cool it to hear that you are doing alright Joe.

Whenever one of these storms hits you hope for the best, but then you, or we
see all of the reports, along with pictures, and you really get worried. But it’s
just terrific to hear that everyone on your end is o.k., and that it evidently was
not as bad as Maria. ..Thank goodness. Although I know it is still bad, and I could
not believe it when we saw that new bridge get washed away.

Honestly, the reports, along with seeing everything have been heartbreaking.
Nevertheless, it’s certainly a relief to hear your report. Thanks so much M

And thank you for posting about this Pedro !

Glad Joe and family are safe been through a typhoon at sea off the coast of Guam these storms are no joke. I really liked Puerto Rico when I went there in the Navy. I hope it recovers fast from this.
