how to ship to Sinn/Germany

Post by Wario406 » Sun Aug 14, 2022 12:22 pm

With all the craziness going around regarding shipping - Im admittedly nervous about sending my Sinn EZM2 to Germany for refurbishment.

The watch is insured through Hodinkee, but Im hoping ya'll can give me some advice on shipping it to Frankfurt?

FedEx/insured/signature seems to be the best route?

Also, do I ship it with the original paperwork (I assume not)? Any other advice?

Thanks in advance -

Is ask them about original paperwork, but yes, ship FedEx international express, have it marked as a watch for repair and make sure all forms filled out properly for customs. (All can be done online).

They don’t need original papers. Just fill out a service form on their website.

https://www.sinn.de/en/Customer_Service.htm

Email them, they will send a label. It’s cheaper than what you can ship it for. I think UPS and FedEx were going to charge me $160-$180, Sinns label cost $90.

I’ve done this too. Best option.

80 bucks sounds like a good deal. I sent my vintage Hanhart 417 chronograph to Germany used FedEx the fastest shipping possible less time to be stolen was my thought. I had no choice two watchmakers failed in the USA. So sent it to a vintage Hanhart specialist with parts. It made it there and back no problem. Never lost a watch in the mail yet. But that 80 bucks sounds like the way to go. I paid a lot more.
