New Breitling Super Ocean
New Breitling Super Ocean
Guys, did you by chance see the brand new Breitling Superocean
Automatic already?
It actually takes you back to the 1960’s, and the SuperOcean Slow
motion. With the new watch, or watches coming with 36, 42, 44, or
46mm cases in stainless steel, bronze, and 18k red gold too. Plus
you have an armada of cool dial colors, nice straps, and bracelets,
as well as the Breitling Caliber 17 right there under the hood.
Some pictures everyone...
Deployant, along with Breitling with even more...

Not a fan of that minute hand or the off color second hand
Re: New Breitling Super Ocean
The fact that Breitling completely changes the look of their Super Ocean every few years with each generation makes these appear cheap and disposable.
Re: New Breitling Super Ocean
No thanks. I’ll stick with the last version.

Thank you! I knew I had seen a recent watch design with a massive rehaut and it was killing me that couldn’t remember it!
At least on the Citizen, the massive rehaut serves a purpose.
Re: New Breitling Super Ocean
This design is really trying too hard imo. The one it’s based on used that stupid hand as the chrono hand, not the minutes.

Re: New Breitling Super Ocean
Wow, great eye there Matt, and I wonder if possibly Breitling saw those new
Citizens, and said, hey that looks like one of our watches. Let’s bring it
back, and get in on the action.
Have to say that I really like them, but I think like Art was saying above, the
SuperOcean should stay true to itself with each new incarnation.
They could have these new Slow Motion SuperOceans as an entirely new
heritage kind of collection. However, have a new variation of the Super
Ocean which looks like the modern ones.
And you know, I am thinking that that is what they will do here. Because
the normal SuperOceans you guys are showing, in which we are used to are
iconic in their own right.
Honestly was THE best hearing what everybody had to say about these !
Thanks so so much just for looking everyone !!!

As I commented on IG, they have succeeded in making it look like a microbrand

Everything Georges Kern touches turns to shit. Not immediately, but eventually. The guy has zero restraint.
Re: New Breitling Super Ocean
The previous version (as several of you own/have owned) is by far my favorite Superocean ever, and I've almost pulled the trigger on a 42mm blue/orange/yellow a few times. This new version is a hard pass.

Re: New Breitling Super Ocean
I like the shape of the case and crown guards, but the wide white ring throws me off even more than the odd minute hand. I might have considered one if they had a single-colour dial.

Haha I was just thinking this. Looks like a Boschett had a child with a deep blue.stonehead887 wrote:As I commented on IG, they have succeeded in making it look like a microbrand

To me, the best superocean is still the steelfish. The Heritage II is nice too, although that’s practically a separate line at this point and only a superocean in name.
