That looks sharp, Tom.
Re: Mido’s Ocean Star 600 Chronometer Black DLC S.E.
nice looking, but did they really need to stamp 'helium valve' across the case?

It’s so tacky. I hate when brands do that.gr8sw wrote:nice looking, but did they really need to stamp 'helium valve' across the case?

A nice watch completely ruined by one stupid detail.

So true.
FWIW, I like quite a few of Mido's recent releases. They seem like a good quality watch at a decent price point. Other than this goofy side stamp (which I universally dislike regardless of brand), this might've been my first purchase of a Mido.

I guess they just wanted people to know that it was the helium valve,
and not laser beam button, poison dart, mist, or eject button.
On a side note, it’s maybe not as noticeable on the watch itself if
we were seeing it in person. But I can see how it would be a turn off
for a lot of people.
Some times I think watch brands try to think of things they can do
to make a limited, or special edition more special. So they will think
of extra things to do. ..I think that is what Mido was thinking here.
But some times less is more, right everyone?!
It’s still fun to see, as well as ridiculously fun to talk about guys.
Thanks so very very much !!!

Nice watch, have always wanted a Mido, mightvhave to consider this one. Not a fan of the writing either, but don't think its a dealbreaker for me.
My only other issue is that I've never liked the hands on the Ocean Star, for some reason they look cheap to me.

I’m glad you are liking it David, it is a stealthy looking Ocean Star.
And although maybe a little questionable, the ‘Helium Valve’ writing
may actually look near invisible on the actual model. These kind
of pictures always make everything look bigger.
Oh, and on the hands, they are are actually refreshing design wise imho.
You won’t see them on other watches every day.
Just was awesome hearing what you had to say sir. ..Thanks a bunch
for giving your thoughts on these !!!

I had the titanium version a few years back. Super accurate movement. I like this, but still not a fan of the hands.

Is there any purpose to that oblong divot in the side of the case above the He valve?
