I love my 14060m and the Explorer but if I had to pick one I’d probably lean towards the convenience of the real gmt movement + the slim profile of the Explorer II.
If I had billionaire money then I would try to track down the best possible example of a Milsub and rock it 24/7
My 16600…was on the distant horizon and then my son bought it for my retirement. After that, having the great fortune of owning some amazing watches on my wrist over the years, I think the TUDOR MN FXD or perhaps trying out at PAM 42mm 682 (in-house movement and one brand I have never owned ) …. but both are not really a grail at this point, since I have that already

Like the line "Forget your lust for the rich man's gold" in the lyrics from the Lynyrd Skynyrd song "Simple Man" I've been content ever since I've had my MM300.
Haven't lusted for another watch since.

All good choices. I wish that YG sub was still $25k. I’d buy it tomorrow.

I sold my AP RO about 3 years ago with plans to use the money to buy a WG Sub as a retirement watch. I’m still on the list with my AD for that watch, albeit at a significant discount. I’m planning a visit to his store on the east coast to meet him for the first time although I’ve been buying from him for 15 years. He’s being persistent with his regional sales rep to try to get one for me before I arrive in late Sept. Fingers crossed.

These are four from my collection that I consider "grail" worthy.

Hmmmmmm. Every time I’ve spent real money on a watch I “had to have”, it’s never stuck. Reality hasn’t often lived up to the expectations, I guess. So, I’ve avoided having a grail to avoid disappointment. I’m satisfied with an SKX that’s settled into +- 2 sec/day, and 2-3 solar Seiko divers. All that being said, my goal watch is an IWC Ingenieur three hander, black dial as my retirement watch. If I ever retire.

I have the two I really want:

But of those I don’t have:

Dream:

What a terrific question Mike, as well as some amazing grails above.
I may have to cop out on what is my grail sir. Because I sincerely, am not sure
picking one is possible. ..Once I pick one, it could make another feel left out.
However, maybe I can make up for it by having several dream grails.
..And then there are a thousand others from basically any, and all of the brands past,
and present out there Mike.
One of my biggest regrets was seeing one of these at the Costco here in Calgary, Alberta many years ago (perhaps 2000 or 2001) for $600 CAD in the display case. People were talking about the watch online, and some had seen it in Costco in the USA. I went back to buy it and it was gone

At least you got to see one in person though James.
And you know that there
is a terrific chance to see one again down the road.
..So stay positive sir.
Look at it this way, it will make you appreciate the watch that much more in
the future if you get a chance to pick it up.

Not really chasing anything right now. I've said it before, and I will say it again. I could be really content w/these 3 for ever.
