I was doing some research tonight on Ronda movements and when I googled, a shopping ad came up for the chase durer UDT XL, until I looked closer and saw this. Apparently Invicta bought out the rights to Chase Durer and their version of the UDT XL is a 49mm monstrosity made in China with an F’D up dial and shit looking bracelet. I thought that the brand was truly revived and I could finally own this watch; but nope, it was not to be.

Although I have to admit it is fun seeing that yellow, and red sub-dial
here on this watch. As well as cool stealth fighter feel it has.

But yeah, it’s evidently not the same design, plus isn’t Swiss Made,
AND is evidently a bit bigger too.

On a side note, was checking out the originals on eBay a second ago.
Wow, and didn’t realize how much they are going for.

I had a CD "F1 Chronograph" way way back in the day. Killed it snorkeling in Kauai, shockingly it wasn't very durable.

Yeah. I know they weren’t great watches, especially to todays standards.
Many many Years ago they released an all steel version of the SF UDT, they made like 200 of them. Always kicked myself for not grabbing one.
When I saw these new ones; I saw the price and thought for under $400, and if it was made like the old ones and same size etc, I would grab one, as back in the day these were $1000. Unfortunately it was not meant to be. I saw a video of these new ones; and they are complete shit, makes the old ones seem like a Sinn in comparison lol .

These things had some serious crown issues. Which is a bummer since they were cool watches back then.

FUGLY, doesn't look like the OG at all.....Marianne Chase was a cool person. I got to know her years ago. Wonder if she's outta the game now.

I bought one of the first pilot commanders and really liked it. Then I ordered the wing commanders x for over $400. When I got it the bezel was scratched and looked like it could scratch very easy. So I sent it back and they sent another one and my brother pointed out that the bezel was bent down on one side. So I sent it back and they refunded my money and told me they did not want to do business with ever again. I'm glade they did because $400 for a quartz watch is too much for me.

Did you screw the crown down, assuming that watch have a screw down crown? If not, yeah not having screwed it down is what killed it.

Ha! I had the original way back, before I really got into watches. I saw it in a magazine ad and ordered it through a catalog, (maybe the web didn't exist yet)? I paid $400 for it at the time, a lot of $$$ for a watch at the time. I wore the snot out of that watch every day for years. I never had any crown issues and the finish still looked pretty good when I put it in a drawer finally to wear something else I purchased. I ended up selling it on ebay years later for more than I originally purchased it for.
