Rotation - how many days/why?
Rotation - how many days/why?
I’ve narrowed my collection a little lately to try and get more/regular wrist time one some of my watches and am wondering… what’s your usual rotation pattern and why?

i swap watches whenever i realize i'd rather be wearing something else.
if i choose well at the start of the day (watch to suit the day's activities, outfit, weather, etc.), i usually only swap watches once or twice per day. : )

Re: Rotation - how many days/why?
There’s really no set pattern on my end Mike.
It’s kind of spontaneous I guess. As I will just choose a watch because it feels
like it’s time to enjoy the watch. Or I want to wear that particular watch sir.
It’s almost kind of like I’m using the Watch Force or something.
There’s no rhyme or reason actually. ..What a great topic !!!

I usually just wear the same watch to work for the week. It getting less important as other things consume my time.

Frequency of rotation depends on how much Mountain Dew I've drunk. If I guzzle too much, I blow chunks.
No, it's not Tourettes.

Ok - that’s something we now know to look out for!ChuckW wrote:Frequency of rotation depends on how much Mountain Dew I've drunk. If I guzzle too much, I blow chunks.

I usually choose whatever I feel like wearing that day, when Im traveling or already at my destination country, it's usually the explorer II for the flight, and one of the watches I brought along for the trip.

Re: Rotation - how many days/why?
As I work away Monday to Friday it's one watch for five days then one or two over the weekend of the watches I won't wear to work, then another for the next five days. It can be weeks that some of my watches don't get wrist time.
Re: Rotation - how many days/why?
I usually wear the same watch during the work week - change it up for the weekend.. rinse and repeat....

Re: Rotation - how many days/why?
I have a smaller collection (Explorer, Seamaster, BB58) of work week watches that I rotate thru . No real method ... I just pick one and then wear it till I feel like changing. Could be the next day or I might wear it for the full week. If I travel I only take the one on my wrist and then that's what I'll wear during the trip.
Weekends I switch to a grab n go quartz (Seiko 7548) or a G Shock.

Totally random, but I do like to surprise myself.

Re: Rotation - how many days/why?
No pattern. Sometimes weeks, some times less than a day. I hardly know where all my watches are right now. So it’s luck of the draw for me

Re: Rotation - how many days/why?
I have two rotations so to speak. A handful of "beaters" that I wear to work. If they get damaged or destroyed I will cry less.
On my days off I will wear my nicer stuff in no particular order. I tend to color coordinate with what I am wearing.
If I I am exercising then I wear Garmin.

Re: Rotation - how many days/why?
pre-pandemic, when i was in the office 5 days a week, i swapped out the night before when i pulled out clothes for work. pretty much changed watches daily.
since the pandemic started, now that i work from home 9 days out of 10, it's far more random and less often. i'll wear a watch sometimes for 10-15 days. or i may only wear it one day. but because i don't have an evening routine like i used to, the changes are less often and less structured.
