New Hamilton Khaki Pilot Pioneer Mechanical Chronograph
Like Longines, I think Hamilton has been on fire the last few years with their vintage-inspired releases. Here's another cool one.
40mm handwound chronograph, 22mm lugs, dome-shaped "box" sapphire crystal, $2000.

I saw that too and agree, Longines & Hamilton have been doing it well lately. I’d wear this one.
Re: New Hamilton Khaki Pilot Pioneer Mechanical Chronograph
Looks really nice, I saw a few Longines LD today, again really nice watches, but thought they wore a little small for a 42mm. Still I thought the bronze LD had potential.

I do like this one
Re: New Hamilton Khaki Pilot Pioneer Mechanical Chronograph
I dig it! I would prefer to skip the fauxtina, but that's kind of their thing...
I still really want a Pilot Pioneer Mechanical...

That really is a head turner Andrew, and have to agree, Hamilton is on fire.
They always seem to be actually. It’s kind of, or really incredible really.
And what’s so great about these, is you have a terrific vintage personality,
but a nice modern marvel at the same time. It’s the perfect combination
of all things cool.
Really want to thank you for the look, along with report sir !!!

That is really really nice. I've been enjoying my three (!!!) Hamiltons a lot, and would pick this one too but I already have two other chronos (one being a Hammy).
Really want to pick up a Longines though, and the blue Zulu time is calling me.

I like it a lot. Just wish it had 20mm lugs
DEATH FROM ABOVE
Re: New Hamilton Khaki Pilot Pioneer Mechanical Chronograph
Same here 20mm lugs would of been better. At least they did the case back right no see through case back would of screwed it all up. But a little over board on vintage lume. Here is my CWC about same case size as Hamilton remake see 20mm lugs much better. Dam the remake got more aged lume than my original issued in 1981. Thank god no date window on this remake.

Need to see it in person, but I'm assuming they went with 22mm lugs because they increased the case size to 40mm from the original's 38mm. Perhaps 20mm didn't work well with the up-sized case.

I like this vintage version, maybe better with less of that faux patina lume though. $2000 seems pricey too.
I have the modern take on this, with the golden dial.

A few years ago they would have ruined this with a date window.

Makes me mad I sold my sterile dial original... that is one of the ones that I should not have let go

That case looks very poorly designed. The lugs are long and the strap gap is excessive. It’s an attractive watch if you look at it for a second but close examination isn’t good.

Not sure if the new case is poorly designed or just an attempt by Hamilton to produce an accurate reproduction of the vintage model.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Sat May 21, 2022 12:34 pmThat case looks very poorly designed. This picture of a vintage version doesn't show it on a strap (most photos I've found show the watch on a NATO), but the lugs look proportionately about as long as on the reissue and the spring bar is pretty close to the end of the lugs.

Yeah that looks like the one I had. Great watch and the gap was not an issue for me and I have a pretty small wrist which I am guessing would make that worse.logan2z wrote:Not sure if the new case is poorly designed or just an attempt by Hamilton to produce an accurate reproduction of the vintage model.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Sat May 21, 2022 12:34 pmThat case looks very poorly designed. I did use some thicker quality straps with it though.

Hamilton does a fair number of cases like that. You definitely see it with a lot of the khaki field models.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Sat May 21, 2022 12:34 pmThat case looks very poorly designed.
