First Acquisition of 2022 (and first in a long time...)
Hey hello all. It's been a while. Last year, in an effort to find some balance, I sold the majority of my watches and kept only my Black Bay Chrono, SRP777, and a vintage chronograph that I bought in Rome several years ago. Most of that moolah went into photo equipment and I've been happy as a clam.
Fast forward to earlier this month (Jan 2022) and I was given a promotion at work and wanted to make a purchase to treat myself. I was 95% sure that I wanted to get Sinn U50 after wearing one for a month or so back in Jan/Feb last year... I just couldn't convince myself that the Sinn would be a long term keeper so my eye drifted to something from Grand Seiko. Long story short here we are... I just picked up an SBGN005 9F Quartz GMT, and I'm super stoked with it.
In an ideal world I'd like to make one more acquisition this year of one of the bronze Hamilton hand crankers and call it a year... We'll see what happens.
Anyway, kinda fun getting something new again after the better part of a year and was excited to share it with everyone. Hope you all are well. :-)

Congrats. These are nice comfortable everyday wearers. I had an 003 for awhile and it ended up being a gateway to more expensive Grand Seiko’s. They are great NATO watches also.

Congrats and great choice - that’s purdy.

Yes, a COLOSSAL congratulation on the promotion, and the watch !!!
Yup, can see why you are stoked. Because a watch like this is genuinely
like a collection within itself. Or at the very least would be considered
a centerpiece within a collection. Plus since you have trimmed down
the collection the watch becomes even more special right?! And I really
can't think of a better way to add to the collection, or start the year
off. This stunner is going to be tough to keep your eyes off of to be
honest.
I hope you wear it a ton, as well as really enjoy it Aaron. And of course
hope you, and yours' are well too. Wishing you a happy, and healthy year.
