Found a watch.... literally.

Post by hobbit712 » Tue Dec 07, 2021 6:11 pm

I went to a local mountain bike trail today to do some maintenance. I was blowing the back third of the trail off with my blower and ran out of gas. As I was walking along the main road to get back to my Jeep, I looked down and found a Suunto Traverse. It was covered in a little bit of dirt and had no charge. Or so it seems. I don't know if somebody just threw it away or lost it. It's in decent shape. Got some slight scratches but not overall too bad for a adventure style watch.

I posted on the Facebook group for my local mountain bike group to see if somebody may have lost it and claims it. Lacking that, I guess I will try and find a charging cable from Amazon to see if it works.

Nice find, assuming there wasn’t an arm attached to it.

Maybe the bear digested the arm and pooped out the watch.

It might be worth more now, like the coffee beans that have passed through a civet.

I only find empty gu packs from trail Freds and broken reflectors from newbies when I do trail days

It must have been an impressive crash to lose a watch. If my Garmin fell off, I'd spend all day trying to find it :fro:

Alright, that is cool Steve, and I am hoping that noone claims it,
and you have a nice holiday gift here for yourself. :santa:

I mean as Rob said, you would definitely think if someone lost it
that they would have been looking for it until they found it. So
maybe just maybe, they don't care for watches as much as you,
or us, and will not even be thinking about this one anymore. But
for you, or us, this is like finding a treasure right?! 8-) ..What a
neat find, along with great day for you.

Here's hoping you get the watch charged up, and on the wrist Steve !
Let's hope this isn't premature, but want to wish you a HUMUNGOUS
congratulations if that's o.k !!!

Terry might want the gu packs...

My neighbor’s son found a Tag Heuer chrono while running a metal detector along the beach. That was definitely a sweet find, but I could never see myself in that group of guys sweeping the beaches at low tide.

Well no one has claimed it off the local MTB Facebook group. Funny thing is the strap is intact so I don't think it fell off someone's wrist.

Still no one claimed the watch. So I purchased a cheap knock off charging cable from Amazon. Charged the watch up and its working perfectly. Paired it with my work phone to use while on the job. Not too shabby for a $10 investment.
