A newbie watch rambler says hi

Post by colonel » Tue Nov 30, 2021 10:51 pm

Hi,

I am new to this forum.

I am so pleased to find a friendly non-denominational forum looking at sport watches that are water-proof ;)

I have had so many watches, its like an addiction.
Latterly I have become skilled at buying at significant discount, or second hand, that when I flip I either dont loose much or only loose a little, and hey I look at the relatively modest amount per month as a hobby cost. I think its cheaper then owning a boat or shooting, but what do I know ;)

I love to try watches, and if they turn out to be a keeper, bonus. I am not rich, so don't have a large collection, and have never bought, for example, a Patek, AP, Ulyse Nardin (although quite close now), etc. I have had a few Rolexes, Omegas, and many things down from here, including Tudors, Sinn, Chrisopher Ward, Muhle Glashutte, Nomos, G-Shock, etc.

I really like all watches. Over time I have become a bit against link bracelets (except with sliding buckle, but even then...), preferring beads of rice or jubilee. And I prefer watches now with a stand out design. I have kind of gone off boring 3 handers. Some aspiration watches to buy are, for example, Alexander Shorokhoff, Corum, Graham and some other wacky designs.

Looking forward to seeing you guys posts !

Best regards
Harold

Welcome Harold. Here’s a lead for you on an Alexander Shorokhoff that’s on another small forum I belong to.

Welcome to DWC

Unlike you, I almost always lose money on trades or sales - mainly due to impatience with a dash of crack-addict level addiction.
