By a lifetime of watches; The SD my son bought me as a retirement gift this year. I was also fortunate to land a sought after 861 Speedmaster Pro. Really grateful daily for these and my 16570. The most balanced watch collection I have owned.

Earlier this year, I bought these two.

Last week, I sold this one, so as far as the watch budget is concerned, my bank account is in positive territory for the year.

The PH500s are great watches, aren’t they?

I had a few changes in the collection. Sold my Chronosport UDT as a project lost some money on that one but getting to old for projects. I am hopping he gets it to working condition. And added some good ones this year maybe one of my better years in a while for vintage wristwatches.

This cool WW1 era wristlet with shrapnel guard that was photographed in one of my favorite books on US issued timepieces the exact watch from the book.
Wow, how many vintage pieces do you have? I just have the two, inherited through the family.

In the past year I’ve been wearing the same watches, very little rotation. The same watch to work for several months and a second on the weekends that lasts about a month.
So I guess you’re pretty happy with what you’ve got? Nice!

Haven't bought a watch in two years, or even had a desire to, so still enjoying the ones I have.

Guess my new passion, which also lead to a new job, have made watches less of a priority.
Sounds interesting

Now next year might be different. The last watch I bought this year the Technos skydiver just has the cool factor due to the dial and hands the perfect aged lume that a lot of watch companies are trying to recreate can't stand counterfeit patina lume and the right case size for me. And a cool BOR bracelet were for some reason the clasp not a scratch magnet it's like immune to it the plexi acrylic crystal hard to scratch never had a plexi like that. Been wearing it almost every day. It one watch I think might break me of this habit. And it's one not many notices like a vintage Tudor snowflake that might get ripped off your wrist. But as cool as one. If your happy with one watch with a few beaters for stuff that mite beat it up is what I am thinking. I might start letting some stuff go down the road but it's hard to let stuff go for me. I even tried to talk the guy out of buying my Chronosport UDT.
LOL, don’t go into sales!!

That Technos is very cool...

My "sold" list for this year:
Rolex 16600
Speedmaster Professional

My "bought" list for this year:
Garmin Instinct
GS Quartz GMT SBGN003
BB58 Blue
Seiko SPB143

Funny that I spent years having cycles of consolidation to get fewer better watches.... and now I'm realizing there is more fun in a small collection of watches that I feel like I can wear anywhere.... Mainly cycle now between the BB58 Blue, U50, GS GMT and my old Tuna.

I think it is more satisfying to have watches you use for sure..

I'm still going with my two 16570s. I've had the black dial version for almost five years now, and picked up the polar during the early part of this year. I picked up (another) Tudor Heritage Ranger a few weeks ago, because I like the look, the price was good, and I wanted something I would be more comfortable beating up. But I don't know if I'm going to keep it.

I also had an SKX009, but I gave it to my son for his 18th birthday. I wish he'd wear it more, but I'm glad he has it - he can take it with him to college next year.

Haven't sold anything this year, but did add two:

Damasko DC66 Chronograph - I always loved the clean, German design language from Damasko. Picked up one from Paul here on DWC and absolutely love it. Perfect size, the ice-hardened steel is amazing, good water resistance, etc. Only downside that I see is the lume is poor.

Also picked up a 45.5MM Omega PO with the orange bezel and 2500D movement. They're getting harder to find and it's one of my favorite all time designs. I also have a 42mm 2201.50 so this it didn't feel too duplicative being a different size and color.

Only others I'd like to add at some point are unobtainable Rolex pieces...so it'll be awhile. Need to do a state of the collection post here sometime.

5 digit is where Rolex peaked, and that Polar is one of the best in my opinion.

I generally like German design, not just watches...

I thinkbdome people are going to regret buying Rolex st grey prices. The bubble will burst.

Been collecting vintage over 20 years started with pocket watches then found the forums and moved on to more collectible wristwatches Military timepieces of all types being ex-Navy then to vintage divers or any vintage that caught my eye if the price was right. They were cheap in the beginning. At one time here at the forum before vintage Tudor subs like the snowflake jumped through the Stratosphere in price a lot of members here in the old days owned them and flipped them like crazy miss those days. Collect less these days due to the price jump that Technos was the most I paid in a long time but it's a keeper. That Wyler was cheap about 300 with some interesting features like the balance that can take a beating and the soiled one-piece case where you got to remove the crystal to get to the movement. So there still deals out there. I buy less these days and I might be done and even let some go.

Over the last few years I've gotten into handguns. This eventually lead to changing careers and becoming Assistant Manager at a large gun range/store. Too much fun......
