Recommended next watch

Post by Wario406 » Mon Oct 25, 2021 12:18 pm

I’m looking to sell my 38mm IWC Portofino with SS bracelet and replace it with something that has a bit larger case (41-45) in the “classy” dress watch style (non-diver). Im looking for something relatively slim, simple face (pilot like), automatic, and $2k max. No bold crazy colors or wild hands/number. Date function ok but not required. What would you all suggest? Im also a Sinn fan…

Dress watches over 40mm are a bit of an anomaly.

However, you may want to check out the Longines Spirit, which is available in 42mm (it's also available in 40mm). An Oris Artix might be another choice. I don't know that I'd label either one a "dress" watch per se - more of a daily wear dressy sports watch.

On edit - maybe something in the Hamilton Jazzmaster or American Classic lines.

A Stowa Marine Original with polished case might fit the bill. It straddles the line between dressy and casual and should come in under budget.

It's also available with Roman numerals if you want to push it in a dressier direction...

Wario, if you like Sinn, the Sinn 556 is just barely below that size you want...

The 6096 World Time is 41.5mm and might be cool if you could find it used...

The 836 is 43mm... :)

Alpina’s Startimer Collection has a few beauties like this too at 42mm...

This Certina DS is 41mm here...

Ever check out Eterna? And watches like this Kontiki 4 Hands coming in at 42mm...
