New Fortis Marinemaster M-40 and M-44

Post by AtomicTom » Fri Oct 15, 2021 11:41 am

Guys, did you see the Fortis Marinemaster M-40, and M-44 already?

The watches have 40, or 44mm stainless steel cases, sapphire
crystals, 300M WR, and 500M WR, blue, green, gray, and white
Fortis O pattern dials on the M-40, and black with orange Fortis
O pattern dials on the M-44. Not to mention Fortis UW-30 in the
M-40, and Calibre WERK 11 in the M-44. Along with nice stainless
steel bracelets, and sporty straps.

Have a look...

They look pretty nice. I like the gray 40mm on rubber. It may just be because I'm color blind, or old, but I can barely see the date.

the waffle dial (or whatever they call it) is annoying... strange dial colors, looks like a funky micro imho

I really like these, but asking $3k is nuts with a basic SW-200 movement.

Where are you getting it is a base sw200?
This is what is listed as. I have not spoken to confirm with Fortis yet, but it does not sound like a modified sw200, but I obviously could be wrong. It’s also listed as a COSC movement.

From the Monochrome article that was posted about the M-40. Does mention a modified balance wheel so perhaps not the “base” version but for $3k would hope for at least the SW300

“Powering the Fortis Marinemaster M-40 is the UW-30 Performance movement, which is a Sellita SW200-1 base. “

Looks like the M-44 gets the fancy new COSC movement but I don’t really care about that one due to size.

Ah. I missed that the 40mm gets a different moment, as the article I read earlier today didn’t mention that.
At that point, should have just used the new movement in both, even if it meant upping the price on the 40.

Another thing that is sweet, not to mention beyond cool, is hearing what
you guys have to say. :salute:   It's just fantastic !!! ..Thank YOU ! :)

Other than the price, these seem really neat to me, but I can totally see
how the dials, and the slightly modified movements might get on a lot of
peoples nerves. ;) Isn't it funny how watch companies seem to follow each
other with various trends?! We have seen a lot of brands lately trying out
similar ideas with dials right?! ..From hypnotic colors, to different kinds
of textures, and patterns. They definitely keep an eye on one another
it seems.
