Baby Dreadnought polar dial

Post by Jeep99dad » Mon Sep 27, 2021 3:29 pm

Eddie is releasing this new variant of the famous Dreadnought.
7” wrist for reference.

I know some aren’t a fan of his or his way of doing sales but thought I’d share Image
I admit I like this one a lot
Need to check the specs.

I like the white dial better than the black

Specs for the black one on his site
If the same case it may wear too small for me

The new "Baby" Dreadnought will appeal to those who don't have a gorilla's wrist but still want a top specification dive watch. At 38mm diameter (41mm including crown) and with a depth rating of 300 metres/990 feet, it looks at home on any wrist and with a high anti-magnetic rating (20,000A/m) you can safely wear it in most environments without fear of it becoming magnetised.

Supplied in a single-watch travelling case with 24 months guarantee.

CASE
• 316L stainless steel, fully bead-blasted
• Diameter 37.4mm bezel, 41mm including crown
• Lug to lug height 45mm
• 13mm to the top of the sapphire crystal
• Lug spacing 18mm
• Anti-magnetic 20,000 A/m
• Water Resistance 30ATM/300 metres/990 feet
• 166 grammes including bracelet
• Screw back, screw down crown and 120 click unidirectional bezel

DIAL
• Black with white printed minute track
• Luminous: Indices SuperLuminova X1-C3

HANDS

The white dial is kind of meh in my opinion. I’ve never tried on a chunky dive watch that small, but it would probably be a better fit than the bigger sibling.

I, and I think a lot of the hobby, have moved on from watches like that but a bit of nostalgia is nice to have.

There’s much truth to that. Many of us started with the big chunky Fricker or Fricker type divers. I picked up the Dreadnought GMT for old time’s sake, though, and do enjoy it.

i have to admit i'm kind of intrigued (despite thinking eddie is kind of a douchebag). i liked the look of many of those chunky beasts, but never wanted a monster watch (at least on my wrist). and i am a fan of 5 link bracelets.

No perfect way to meet demand I would rather get a shot at a fairly priced piece than overpay for a ho hum homage.

I can appreciate the original but the dial looks dated. In fact I.

I see the watch is already sold out?
Is this guy another one of those clowns who supposedly sell watches but never have one available for sale?
It's painful enough with Rolex, not ready to deal with this with micro brands.

(most of his watches are really cool though, I remember I got a Precista from Todd here and loved it)
No. Eddie doesn’t offer things for sale unless he has them in stock. His pricing is fair, but his customer service isn’t highly regarded.

Relax buddy. It’s not even released yet. Good grief. Image

Eddie keeps his customers pretty up to date through his regular newsletter emails. When the watches come in he sends out an email letting customers know when he will open his online store to receive orders.

I have been a customer of Eddie's for years. I have always had good communication from him.... But then, I have never had any problems with any of the watches i have ordered from him.

"Diameter 37.4mm bezel, 41mm including crown". .......Way too small for me. It would look like I was wearing a woman's watch.

The deisgn feels dated but some will appreciate that and the fact the Dreadnought was one of the OG micros and a successful one at that.
I thought it was 40mm but it’s too small and will have a small opening so I feel it’ll wear too small for me anyway.
However I’m guessing it may sell out and would be somewhat easy to move on the secondary market for those that don’t click with it?

This new white dialed version looks a little "bland" IMO. From a design stand point I think the hour marker black outlines should have been a little bolder.

This is unbelievably cool to hear about Brice ! :o :salute: 8-)

A lot of times watches stop getting made, and that's just the end of it.
But that's what's so nice about the hobby today, and re-issues. It
gives a lot people a chance to revisit past classics. And others this great
opportunity to discover something new. Because not everyone was on
the forums at the time. Or were even into the hobby back then in a lot
of cases.

Such terrific news sir, cannot thank you enough for the report !!!
