Ikepod's Seapod Collection

Post by AtomicTom » Tue Sep 14, 2021 9:25 am

You guys might remember talking about Ikepod over the years.

Did you catch a look a their new Seapod Collection though?

These new watches have 46mm stainless steel cases with
brushed, or black PVD finishes, 200m WR, black sandwich
dials with futuristic looking hands, and markers, as well as
blue, orange or white accents, sleek rotatable bezel, sporty
straps, and Miyota 9039 automatic movement behind it all.

Some pics for you...

Glad to see that Ikepod is staying weird. Interesting that this bezel actually turns, and by all reports it is fairly easy to manipulate.

+1

One of those companies that I’d never own a piece from but glad they’re still around.

Liked them back in the day, and still do.

You guys are so right about how that bezel turns. :salute: :salute:
Honestly you wouldn’t even think it would, or that there
would even be a bezel right?! But they managed to add it
in, and seamlessly integrate it right into the case. :o

It’s just a fun watch, and the company seems like it’s
always been incredibly fun, and cool as well. 8-) 8-)

What’s beyond cool is hearing what all of you guys have to
say though, so thanks so much !!!

This is a design I think would look cool if it were oil-filled quartz. That domed crystal with the visual effect of the oil would look wild.

They do have that Oakley vibe Jeremy, and Terry.
But I don’t think Ikepod, or Mark Newson was involved.
However, he did help design the Apple Watch which I
didn’t know about.

Either way, can totally see the comparison guys !

Eric, was thinking that maybe the circular UFO shape is
what maybe makes these remind you of a ladies watch.
They have a real sleekness to them as well, but the size
is larger. Kind of like a vintage UFO watch done in a cool
modern way. 8-)

And Chris, yes, wow, this watch would look amazing having
the whole oil filled thing happening. :o It would make the
watch even more wild right?! :)

Really appreciate you guys sharing all your thoughts on these !!!

Although I don't mind the design, or hockey puck part.

IIRC their designer went to Apple. You can see the similarities...
