Cheap Thrills 2021

Post by mattcantwin » Sat Aug 28, 2021 1:12 pm

What "cheap" watch(es) have you bought this year you really enjoy?

Try to limit to new watches only so someone else might take advantage of your find.

I'll start off with my white dial King Samurai; $399 on eBay.

Diver from the 1960's made by Wyler. Solid case a front loader got the Incaflex balance were they advertised it by dropping it off the space needle and still ticking. Kind of a cool vintage diver of a under looked brand.

Found this gaudy watch on eBay, negotiated the price down to 600$ by telling the seller how ugly it was.

Nice! What's meant by "4 Hz"? The stepper motor moves 4 times per second instead of the more common once-per-second? How much of an impact does that have on battery life?

Yes, the second hand moves 4 times per second. The claim is 2 years of battery life.
