Modern Omegas are nicer, but to me this era is Omega. Being able to buy a watch like a 2254 for $1500 on TZ is what got me into watches. It's a shame those days are over for new collectors.

Yeah, this era of Omega was the gateway drug for probably the majority of the "watch forum" folks, especially those here. My first nice watch was a 2225.80 Bond chronograph for about $1500. Even today, these are still a bargain relative to the inflated prices of other hyped-up watches.
