Heuer Stopwatch

Post by Cabaiguan » Sat May 15, 2021 12:08 pm

My MIL just gave me this stopwatch that belonged to my FIL who was a mechanic and passed away years ago. Cool little piece. Manual movement that winds and works perfect. Trying to find more info on it - seems Heuer and Fisher manufactured a bunch of these in the 60’s and 70’s.

Yeah, I'm with Christopher, this is really cool, beyond cool if I'm being honest !
Just the looks are incredible actually. With the red, and white looking terrific
with the black case, and almost like a race car itself. 8-) ..You have to really
be enjoying this, as well as checking it out every few seconds, or at least every
few minutes. It makes you wish that Heuer, or Tag Heuer still made these today,
and never stopped. But you have one, and it's a vintage classic that is a real
head turner sir.

What a wonderful idea of her to give this to you. I guess she knows how much
you enjoy watches, and knew it would really be enjoyed, and appreciated. :salute:
Really hope you enjoy this beauty ! ..A GIANT congratulations there to you !!!

We had two of those on the boat. Without getting too boring, one of our daily tests required timing exactly 15 minutes. The calibration stickers covered the whole back of the stop watch.
If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying 'End-of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH', the paint wouldn't even have time to dry.

Thanks all. Great info! I’m going to take it in for a service. Seems the reset doesn’t quite get the hands around even when fully wound.

Very cool! I believe that they were produced by Heuer and retailed by Fisher.
