Citizen Service?
Citizen Service?
So this happened ...
I’ve never sent in a Citizen for repair.
Is Hurley Roberts in GA still the go to?
Was checking eBay prices to see if a service would make financial sense; unbeknownst to me this model has doubled and in some instances tripled in price from what I got mine for used.

Re: Citizen Service?
I sent my father's Citizen Promaster 300m diver to their CA service center and had a positive experience. The responded quickly with a quote for the required service (crystal replacement and pressure test) and turned the watch around in a matter of a few weeks.
They even checked the movement (my father thought it wasn't holding a charge) and reported it was fine. They could've taken me for a ride on that one but didn't.

Re: Citizen Service?
Dang Ralpo. How’d you manage that?

I could make up some cool shit but I dropped this fker on its face when picking it up on the night stand.
I’ll look into the face thong contraption once I get it back from service

Lol - not hangin’ high as they used to…
Just be careful and maybe use a bit of stickum after you oil your beard.

Re: Citizen Service?
There service center sounds good and fast. They need to start making these shrapnel guards from WW1 for modern watches.
Citizen Service?
Just got my estimate back from Hurley Roberts.
$379...yeesh
Breakdown is:
$179 for “major gasket change”
$120 for “movement maintenance”
$80 for “sapphire crystal upgrade”
Service estimate is more than what I paid for the watch.
Are these prices in line with eco drive services? I, like most of us, am more familiar with mechanical watch servicing costs.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

Re: Citizen Service?
That is easily 3X what I paid for my Dad’s repair. He got a new crystal, gaskets, movement check, and pressure check (per 300m dive watch). I can’t remember the exact price, but definitely less than $100.
Just send it to Citizen in CA.

Re: Citizen Service?
I have a guy in TX who just redid a couple of my Aqualands. Send me a PM and I’ll dig out the info later today.
Re: Citizen Service?
I’m truly curious to know if they actually will quote something different. When did you send in your dads watch for repair?Ryeguy wrote:That is easily 3X what I paid for my Dad’s repair. I sent it this past winter, maybe February or March timeframe.
It took a couple weeks for the formal quote, then a couple more weeks for the work to be done. All told, maybe 6 weeks total.

Not bad. Will definitely be considering them. ThanksRyeguy wrote:r.palace wrote: ↑Tue May 25, 2021 5:14 amI’m truly curious to know if they actually will quote something different. Just got the watch back yesterday. I am very happy with Craig’s estimate and turnaround time. He’s a straigr shooter.
Pressure test ensures it’s still water resistant and the sapphire crystal will ensure it won’t suffer the same fate as the mineral crystal.
