If I had to keep 2 of my current collection:
Seawolf as the 'do anything' watch and the Pam for office and more formal occasions.

I mainly rotate between my BB58, Speedy pro and Sbbn015 Tuna but would probably narrow down to the Speedy and Tudor if I had to.

This would be my choice as well and I should have kept them together when I had the chance.

I’d be happy with those too, yet I sold both.

Exp 1 and a diver.

For the diver, maybe a 14060 but more likely a 2254 Seamaster since I’d feel more comfortable wearing that for anything since the price is lower.

Let me change the title of the thread.

If you had to pare down your collection to a MULTIPLE of 2 watches.

It always just says now

Thanks Pat, currently looking at a near new pre-owned Blue Pelagos here in Sydney for $4500 Aus dollars = about $3200US. Big problem I have at the moment is the exchange rate, which hammers me if I buy from the US. J

Seiko 7546 Grab-n-GO

Can't get down to 2 so 3 is my best attempt

keeping:

Letting go:
Oak & Oscar Humboldt
Tudor day Date
Seiko 7546 - although this would be hard to do, it would be a lower cost of re-acquisition
How is the oak and Oscar?

It’s not here yet, pre-orders will start arriving in Spring but if it’s like other Oak&Oscars I’ve handled it will be great.

I eventually move them all anyway but Being the context of the original question was if I Absolutely had to cut down my small collection to even smaller choices have to be be made.

I’m thinking my Explorer II and either my Ares or Pelagos. The idea of the 10-year battery makes me lean towards the Ares. I thought about my Fenix, but need for charging capability in my travels kind of rules it out as my “mission” watch.

Pretty easy for me I guess....

I’d keep the Speedy Pro (never leaving collection) and my Panerai 305.

I’m actually completely happy with both.

Of watches I might be able to afford? Two 16570's. One white and one black. At least that's the way I've been feeling lately.

If money were no object? Not sure.
Almost three years later and this is still where I'm at, and I even managed to actually do it. I still get restless from time to time, but the only way I could see moving the 16570s would be to consolidate into one more expensive piece (like a 16710 or something).

If money were no object, I think one would be a Patek Aquanaut - having seen it IRL, I think it looks great. Crazy expensive now, though. Not sure about the other. Maybe a white gold or platinum Day-Date? Or I guess I could go with something with a lot of complications from Patek or the like.

My "problem" is I have quite a few pieces that were gifts, therefore they aren't going anywhere. However, if push came to shove, these two would remain. Daily and the nice vintage heirloom for special occasions.

On the flip side, if I was facing skid row, Id sell everything and stick to the fossil my girlfriend (who changed titles to Mrs. and mother) bought me years ago, and my garmin for running (since I'll be broke my bikes will be sold too :puke: )

I know we all love this kind of discussion.

first, let me say, all watches go eventually, however for the sake of argument let's break them down into tiers

I reserve the right to change this up at any time, lol

will go before the "last two" maybe, probably, and in no order

And of today I would hold on to these two the longest, not written in stone
