The blue Pelagos actually looks good in person, much better than any pics I have seen.
That's my pick

Both great choices. I've had both, and i'd choose the Pelagos, as long as you don't want the shine of the SM.

I've tried on the Bremont twice at an AD. It wears extremely small and the rubber strap was like a torture device. Looks nice, but I'd never own one.

The Bremont is a really nicely finished watch, but it is flashier also. Where the Pelagos fits flat on the wrist and it is more subdued. I do think the Pelagos has better resell also.

And easier to sell. Selling Bremont watches blows.

Definitely buy used. I liked my Supermarine on the new style rubber strap (way more supple than the first gen strap). It's a nice, more blingy watch than the Pelagos. I do think that the Pelagos has more features (great bezel, Ti, awesome clasp), so if you don't mind the matte style of the Pelagos, that's the one to get.
I tried a blue Pelagos the other day and loved it!

and it's not particularly close. Bremont, at least to me, is a lot of fluff, marketing, silly historical tie-ins and expense and very little substance. No interest in their watches whatsoever.
The Pelagos is just the opposite.
My 2 cents.
