unwitting Tudor collection

Post by hoppes-no9 » Fri May 13, 2016 10:53 am

Went to switch the Pelagos for something else for the afternoon, and realized that quite unintentionally, a modest Tudor collection has taken up residence in my box. With vintage Rolex prices as crazy as they are, I guess it's not surprising that my first two vintage pieces are Tudors. Maybe they'll appreciate in value, maybe not, but with my new interest in the 40-42mm size range, I like em a lot.

The sub, the big block, and the Pelagos; I'd be happy with just that. Strong work

The funny thing is, I was DYING to pick up a Heritage Chrono when they first came out a few years ago, and that would have been my first Tudor. Three Tudors later, I still don't have an HC.

The pic you posted in today's WRUW is certainly testing my willpower.

Edit -- correction, it was Rockmaster Mike's THC pic earlier today

I really like my heritage chrono and the 94210 would be a hell of a vintage/modern 1-2 combo.

What is the difference between a 94210 and a 79160??

Your THC pic today is amazing. I incorrectly attributed it to r.palace earlier.

I think the differences between the two refs are very minor. Hands and dial I think.

Excellent lineup. That big block is sweet.

I'll match my Snowflake against any vintage Rolex anytime. as an AD & friend told me
"a Rolex isn't a big deal since everyone has one. give me a unique Tudor."

Very similar here... Tudor Snowflake, Big block, and the Black Bay... Little modern with vintage, just like with my Rolex collection - Pepsi 16750, matte 16800, hulk and BLNR and ceramic Daytona on the way...

No kidding. If I didn't already have the Pelagos I'd be on the hunt.
