Shipping to Europe--Help

Post by jimyritz » Thu Dec 17, 2009 12:13 pm

Is it better to send a package and fill the forms out on my end or send the package
and have it go through customs locally in the country of destination?

Both options thru US Postal Service:

Option 1 is much more expensive and will guarantee a date
Option 2 is less expensive and says 6 business days but still has
to get thru customs..

Thoughts, ideas would be appreciated..

Thanks
Mike

Hi Mike,if you talking about the great white your sending to Norway hes gonna be hit with 25% tax for everything over $200 :o .So its what you write/value on the form/package thats matter.it will go through customs regardless.

ps.and dont worry about shipping to Norway guys, this aint Italy or Nigeria

Thanks Roar.

I have never had any shipping issues (knock on wood)...I have shipped to
Greece, Netherlands, Canada and Australia... This was the first time I felt like
I was being interrogated--could just be the sign of the times or the specific
post office...

Best
Mike

Thanks a lot for your advice El presidente!
When taking the package thru customs I might just get lucky and they having to send me the package before they get to charge me the tax. They aren't allowed to hold anything more then 4 days in customs. And they have so much to do right now that most is sent without getting taxed.
