Oris Big Crown ProPilot Altimeter Watch

Post by logan2z » Sat Jun 28, 2014 9:07 am

While I personally have no use for a watch with a built-in mechanical altimeter, I think this new Oris is actually pretty cool. The review at ABlogToWatch was nicely done as well.

Oris has been coming out with some innovative stuff lately. Not a huge fan of the look of the watch though :)

Very interesting complication. I like the way they separated the central dial. All in all unique and useful. It isn't on the Oris website yet. I wonder what the size is.

That is a handsome modern watch, with elements that pay tribute to traditional pilot watches.

A little too much inner bezel for me, but overall pretty cool. Sweet bezel!

Those straps look very well made for OEM and the bracelet looks great too.

I'm sure they'll be at EAA this year if someone is in the area.

I agree with the size being to big. Those straps are nice though

Hey, at least they're going away from the integrated bracelet!

These look pretty fantastic Andrew ! :o

Had heard about these coming out, and man are they nice. Better than even
imagined actually. Never have seen a watch with this combination of design
ideas, or elements. ..It's a lot like they do with their other watches when you
think about it. Nice classic looks, but with cool modern curves tossed in to
make them stand apart. Neat stuff ! Thanks a lot Andrew !

Quick question, from what i read in the review the 4 o'clock crown needs to be unwound for the altimeter to work, is this correct?

I dig this design. The dimension on the dial looks great. Looks a bit thick in the photo though.
