Two of my all time favorites.

WC, so far ahead of his time. The guy set a standard that is still being followed.

Jeff Beck, along with Zappa and a few others that are gone Imo will someday be likened to those great composers who wore wigs a long time ago....

The specs say 42mm case with a 45mm bezel? Doesn't that look weird?

That all depends on how the case is designed. I have one that's case starts at 41.6mm and widens as it goes up. The bezel is 45.8mm at the top. That makes for an overall difference of 4.2mm, but it still looks good.

As for the Kobold rip-off.... :raised:

The name across the dial is too long and looks utterly ridiculous.

UHRMECHANIK?

As soon as I read that I immediately thought of the grade school question: "penis says what?"

Yeah, total rip off including price (but maybe they actually ship it in a box?)

Sure the Vortex is a rip as well, but it's only about 9 bills..

Looks a bit like the case Kazimon was making (like the seal)...and I know he was making custom bezels for the seal too... Just curious if he has a hand in this one...

it certainly is possible of course, but i doubt it.
He was offering them as kits, DIY style.
And i think he will be a bit busy sorting his own Kazimon brand with the 1500 at the moment, doubt he would want to venture into something like this right now.

Now that's a comparison I wouldn't touch.
But I'd go with both.

First Prometheus copies the Phantom/Polar Surveyor, then Dievas comes out with an SMG-1 knock-off, and now this... I can't wait to see what's next. A Soarway Diver homage? A Shackleton clone?

Seriously, I have ZERO respect for any company that can't put in the time and effort to design their own damn watch, but rather just sits back and coasts on someone else's vision and hard work. Now it's true that Kobold sold re-branded Sinn's in the beginning, but the difference here is that this was done with permission, and Sinn was paid for the trouble. What we have here is blatant theft. That's right, even though this pathetic lump of steel may sport a different (crappy) bezel and (crappy) dial, the actual case is a spitting image. I wonder, did Fricker hand this out like they did with the SMG-1 case?

Well, whatever the case may be, I'm just glad that when I glance down at my wrist, I'm wearing the one, the only, the original SEAL (overpriced, poorly lumed, piece of crap, though it may be ;) )

Regards,
Adam
