The Dive Watch Connection

So Clooney is Omegas celebrity. The Speedy he wore in "The American" looked perfect on him. He's a pretty thin, fit guy. This watch, which I assume is the 45mm PO looks "too big" on him to my eye. Maybe its age catching up with me, but when I'm out in the world and notice a watch because its big, it turns me off. Thoughts?

I honestly don't think it looks too big on him. It looks large and chunky, I like it.

The thickness of the 8500 is what turns me off. 45mm is definitely the upper limit, but the 2500 PO wears much better than the 8500 in my opinion.

I think the size debate ebbs and flows...we have a lot of brothers here who wear 47mm PAM or 9300 POC that look just like that on them...is it big on George, yes, but it doesn't look ridiculous to me.

If you like it, you should wear it. And I think Clooney is a pretty cool dude.

Looks stupid on him IMO although I'm a anything over 42mm is too big kinda guy-mainly due to wear comfort. There is no way that watch is comfortable to wear all day/night like I wear a watch for daily activities like working, biking, shooting, raking, hoeing, running etc.

I deny it.

Over 42mm for me is "too big".

But, it's all personal choice.

(and I like Clooney)

It's bigger than I'd wear personally, doesn't look proportionally correct to me.

That watch is a tad too big for him. His wrist is calling for a 42mm.

Now I'm just lost.

Is the argument he's an actor therefore he's a tool, period. No possibility he could also be a smart, funny concerned citizen.

Anyway, it's just a picture I saw of a skinny guy wearing a big watch I thought made a point.

The guy has gotten more distinctive looking as he's aged. In his younger years he was just another pretty boy. Most people go downhill. He hasn't. Except when he's character like in The Descendants. That's acting.

I think JP Chestnut was cast to play the Tool in this particular thread. You may not like George Clooney's work, but he's not a tool. He's a guy who has chosen to market himself and his acting skills...quite obviously, he has been successful!!!

How about in the "marketing tool" or the "you're a tool of the dog house makers, Marge" sense, which seems accurate (and isn't necessarily insulting)?

Doesn't fit his persona. Not that it's overly big; he just doesn't seem "right" with a chunky watch like that.

He's a very good actor and maybe a better director that makes very successful films. I could not care less about his political activism or his personal life. To that point, if you don't agree with him then he might be a tool. But I never argue with success. My hat's off to the guy.

Yeah, I think the watch is too big for him, too.

the watch looks a little too big on him

he's a damn good actor who is also a handsome guy. i used to say Brad Pitt was a pretty boy that couldn't act until i saw "12 Monkeys" (i did a 180 on him after that). the two of them together on screen is pure gold
