Nice to have this on the wrist again; it stayed behind during my recent travels. I enjoy the watch and it's something that's great to have when visiting a place like Amsterdam or Copenhagen, but it's less suitable for randomness.

For many circumstances, it's better to pick something versatile and robust, then not think about what's on the wrist — just go places and do things. For me, there's still nothing that beats a GMT in that role.

Hey James nice watch (know it's a recent acquisition), my wife just commented on it. Also nice Persian rugs you have there, did you pick these up when you were in the Ghan? Cheers Jules.

Hey, Jules. Yep, a really nice watch on the wrist; dresses nicely with shirt-and-tie ensembles. Understated and elegant, which is a nice contrast to me, as my wife routinely points out.

As for the carpets, our house is full of 2nd and 3rd quality ones (still excellent, just not paying the premium for first quality)that my wife and I picked up over in the sandbox during our various respective stays over there. We also have 2 - 3 smaller first quality, which are stunning, as well as three of the large intricately carved wooden chests.

The Frau, during her first tour, sent home 17 of quarter and / or half packing triwalls full of stuff, and then followed up during her next tour with another 7; so needless to say we have lots of Perian carpets ... everywhere.

Nice, I didn't manage to bring back rugs. But bought a small quantity of diamonds and a 6 man tent that a mate accidentally double ordered from the US when I was there the second time. But hey, I bought the 1625 Tbird for my wife and GMT II after I got home on that trip.

Just wasn't sure on what I was buying quality wise so held off on the Rugs. A good mate from 1st Gp who I worked with in Iraq got all spun up about the rugs, but I/we were just too busy to get that involved, and the really good ones are still very expensive. And I just didn't want to get ripped off paying top dollar when I wasn't full bottle on what I was buying.

Your rugs look really nice and noticed them straight away. Catch you later J.
