At the behest of Ben Clymer of Hodinkee, the Red Bar crew rounded up some Tudors as part of an early promotional push by Rolex to reintroduce the brand to the American marketplace.
Setting up:
And... Action!
It was an illuminating evening...

Solid as usual. That blue Tudor rocks my world

Adam I already expressed happiness and extreme jealousy on IG... But that looks like an awesome event.
Any Black Bays?
Oh yeah.... Tudor coming back to the states!! That's awesome!
When?

No Black Bays, unfortunately. Had one particular member showed up, the Tudor count would've doubled with a Black Bay being one of the pieces in attendance (this particular fellow has an unparalled vintage Tudor/Rolex collection).
As for the exact date of Tudor's return, I'm not sure, but it should be by the second quarter.

Adam

Been tring to get a Omega extrac on it to find out if the first buyer was the French govt. It's a pain in the ass to get.Went through Omega web site and then they passed me onto Swatch in NY were they send you a form that needs to be filled out by a local Omega dealer stamp by them and sent back to swatch and you have to pay Swatch 90.00 bucks and since going through a middle man takes 6-10 weeks to get but if I lived in Canada or Europe it would cost 75 swiss franks a little cheaper and takes 2 weeks and is all done on there web site.I just contacted Toppers and talked to Rob over there he is going to see what he can do.He said I was the first to ask about it.But it would be cool to know the history on this Omega SHOM.

As soon as I can afford it I am buying back a BB then THC to go with the Pelagos.
The come back is gonna drop resale values of the Pelagos and B I would think.
Another great GTG, awesome watches and good news about Tudor!

Wish I could. If it were IWC, JLC, AP or G-P I might be able to help, but Swatch Group is a black hole where I'm concerned. One of our RB members used to be one the head watchmakers at Omega's NYC boutique, but he's since moved on to Manfredi in Greenwich. I can hit him up and see if he still has contacts with the brand, but I doubt it.

Adam

It was a great time and as usual, Adam was an excellent host.
The watches were amazing and it was exciting to see so many nice Tudors in one place. For all you Pelagos owners, wow...what a great watch! The pics do this one no justice at all. I wasn't a big Pelagos fan but what a great watch. Now I get it...or will get it!
There were also quite a few other beauties; a vintage Daytona, amazing Omega Flightmaster, "La Bomba" and a platinum Lange which was unbelievable from the sheer weight of the platinum to the ridiculously decorated movement. Too many great pieces to mention.
Ho-hum...just a typical night at Red Bar I guess.

I think that now would be a good time to look into picking up any vintage Tudor that folks might have their eyes on. Ben and I both agree that Tudor's return to the US and the marketing push that'll come with it will almost certainly drive up the prices on vintage pieces. Already Snowflake prices are shooting up, and other Tudor Subs are following suit.
Just sayin'.

Adam

Wu I thought you still had your big block.
Don't ever assume I have anything that you haven't seen in awhile.
I don't have a big safe deposit box like Zack.
I actually sold it to a buddy's wife who was looking to get a nice watch for her husband. I had it all serviced and good-to-go and sold it to them at a loss to me. He loves it. And now I miss it.
