Was at work today and I was trying to give a gentleman some info. While talking he noticed my JSAR and asked about it. Told him a little about it and his eyes lit up. We ended up talking for a short while about different watch topics (so much so I almost forgot why I was talking to him in the first place. Had to steer it back around even though I didn't want to) He's got a small collection and was telling me about some limited edition Breitling he had along with a few others. Just so happens I went to a jewelry store after work last night that is an AD for a few brands. (I went to see about getting something engraved-- never thought to stop in there for watches) I mentioned it and it ended up being the place he takes all his watches for service. His wife saddled up next to him a bit later and when her ears heard the conversation the ol' eyes rolled around to the back of her head so far I thought they'd stay there. Seems this watch talk is not new. I gave him the forum info and an email address. I'm hoping he stops in to have a look. He seemed pretty interested and seemed amazed that people meet up to talk watches. I've run into some watch lovers (and have a few at work), but none with the enthusiasm this guy had. A true WIS for sure.
I'm usually the one asking someone about their watch. Its rare someone actually say something to me other than that they like my watch. Some say they like watches too, and then name Fossil or something similar. I'll mention Breitling or Glycine (

)-- or even talk about some Seiko or Citizen and they'll look confused.

Conversation over.
Anyone else have the rare WIS notice your watch and stop to ask you about it?

Did I read it correctly, a JSAR? How does it fit on your wrist. That is a honk of a watch. Must be that Polish blood that forced you to get one...

There are only two kinds of people in the world, the ones that own Sinn U1, U1W, U2, UX, U212 and U-Unlimited, and ones that don’t.

In my many byears of watch wearing I can remember 2 times when anyone said a word about my watch.
One time was a family thing when my daughter in law said (about my 44 mm hamilton Khaki Aviation) nice watch-but it's BIG!
The other time was at an AD at a mall where a guy wearing a Rolex Sub caught a glimpse of my Sinn U-1 and asked about it.
He was looking for something a bit larger than his Rolex.
Rather than punch him in the head I suggested that he go to the Precision Time store and check out the Invicta Cordubas.

Damn right! Its not as big as the Ecozilla, which I also wear. The JSAR has been worn every day since I got it. Quite cozy on my little wrist
And, Chief... when ya gonna post some pics of that hot truck of yours? I wanna see more of that bed cover!

Dom.. pics are comin', I promise. With my work schedule and the crappy weather here...

I wanted to wait and post pics of everything all at once in my new watch box. Cheap but it will work. Might have to reline it myself, though

Next good day is looking like Wednesday. My house sits in the shade and so I don't get a good amount of natural light inside, so I've gotta go outside. Damn rain!

I have a neighbor across the street who's always asking questions about watches. Pretty sure he secretly covets my collection.

Cool Heather, hope he stops by!
Rarely, someone might comment on a watch I'm wearing. Lately, it's been with the Doxa. That orange dial sorta begs to be commented on. A couple of guys in my office are into watches, not so much as me, but they do have an interest and we talk every now and then. It's pretty rare in my neck of the woods to find your average wis.
