Mid 70s Tissot Navigator.

Post by merichar » Sat Dec 05, 2009 2:57 pm

I just got this one today. Don't know a lot about it but its a Tissot Navigator from 1974-I think. Its in great shape-although there are a few dustbunnies under the crystal. Don't know what movement is in it, there is no quick change date function or hacking feature, so that ought to help me figure it out. Its smallish by todays standards at 36mm. Will need to do some more research on this one.

That one is sweet. Someone should do a reissue of that one with an enlarged case, say 43mm. :bananastoner:
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

now that'd be interesting.

Nice vintage find you got there Mark. Wish I knew a little more about them. I'll see what I can find. Any info on the caseback?

No the caseback is sterile. From what I've found so far, I think its an ETA 2481. I have'nt been able to open the caseback yet, because its not notched. The caseback is ten sided and I don't have a tool for that. Any ideas on how I can get it open without damaging caseback?

interesting. post up a pic of the caseback. Some guys have used wadded up duct tape, sticky side out, to get off a screwdown caseback, which I assume this one is. Maybe we can find an alternative to get that sucker off.
