Re: Can't use NATO???
I had a problem too with Zulu straps. I have what I considered NATO type and Zulu type straps and got an email from county comm claiming that had the trademark for Zulu, so I just renamed them 2 ring or 4 ring Nylon straps.
So now you cannot use Zulu or NATO? it's time to come up with my own names.

Graeme

Just call them Forged Above Ground straps. Or, FAG.
Re: Can't use NATO???
At first, I thought that, like Pat, you couldn't figure out how to use a NATO strap.

Re: Can't use NATO???
A buddy of mine got banned from a sales board for using the term ZULU to sell his ZULU straps because of shit like this.
I'm glad you posted this deal about the NATO's. I'd have thought that NATO would be the only organization to have been able to trademark this name or term. I guess NATO will now have to call themselves something else.
Fairly smart thinking by Internationally Gay Watchman, but a huge backfire in the long run, I do believe.
Unfuckingreal.
I like the way Cesar thinks... Forged Above Ground straps.
And now I don't think we can say "Adam" anymore without getting sued. Shit, man, that blows.

From now on, when I list a watch on NATO, I'll just list it as:
FS: Rolex Sub on North Atlantic Treaty Organization strap

^^^Perfect.
Unless, of course, you are listing on the mwr forum: in that case, use T.R.'s idea, as in: "FSOT: lightly used Internationally Gay Watchman Straps, 22mm, 3 colors available. Grey, Black, and Bond..."

Holy Shite! This is the same name as the owner and the right area. I can't say for sure it is the same Ron Sabo, but it would be one hell of a coincidence if it was not.justsellbrgs wrote:...and I just noticed this in the mwr thread....

You can see the IW company info here: http://www.manta.com/c/mmcbjv1/international-watchman
Never bought from them in the past....never going to in the future. I have 0 sympathy for this offense.

I've had good customer service from IW in the past.
I know he got slammed by Panerai and lost money on some watches he built that he couldn't sell - maybe that's why he went out and decided that "if you can't beat them..."
It doesn't phase me one way or another
