Even Sinn 3H dial EZM1 had SL hands. Almost 100% certain. I would do the dial swap at service.

This watch deserves to look better than it does. Refurbish.

I would replace the dial. But really it is up to what you want, no correct answer. Too much age, patina, mould to me is not attractive. Someone likes it...
You?

I only just learned that a replacement 3H dial is possible. I had decided not to refurb if it meant getting an Ar service dial, and have the ghost bezel replaced with the Gen2 insert. But getting “new” old stock replacements changed the landscape - so I’m leaning towards a refurb.

Another "As is" here mate. So long as the ageing has stabalised and everything mechanically is ok, I really like the current look. But hey, it's your watch...

Looking at the photo, it appears to be on a new bracelet. Doesn't that make the whole set up look odd? I think a refurb is the way to go. I might have thought differently if the watch had grown old and battered with me, but as it is, it's someone else's adventures that got it looking that way.

I decided to send it in to refurb. Came back today with
new crystal
new hands
new dial
new bezel insert
new crown
new CuS capsule
new Ar gas fill
complete 5100 service
So the only old parts are the case, the bezel, and caseback, and even they may have been refinished. It is as close to a NOS EZM1 as is possible.

The customs form reads "tritium" but I'm quite sure it is SLN. It cost almost as much as an EZM1 did in 1998, but I am very happy with the results.

And the strangest thing is, they returned the old dial with the other replaced parts! NEVER saw that before with Sinn!

What a great watch. Congrats on the refirb and new (to you) updates. I remember getting my EZM2 back from Sinn and being astonished as to how good it looked.

Nice and the returned dial might be worth some bucks to the right buyer. Im sure there are still some bape abortions that need rehab. :gayumbrella:

Wow, as much as people complain about recent Sinn pricing, they're one of the few brands that will do what the customer wants during service. They'll change the date wheel to red, swap dials, hands, etc. Most big name brands will just say no to everything.

That looks amazing. They don't do that often, I suspect there was venerable shop talk around it. Well played Seth!
